to be fair, the comparison isn't that great. the germans were/are smart, often leading the way in many fields. in general, muslims - whether arabic or whatever - haven't invented much for 800 years.

its possibly true that some sort of "chaos" is necessary to put the 'evolutionary pressure ' back on people.
I think , at our core, humans "know " that we stop performing once we get too comfortable.

Old fritz had his nice sausages and octoberfest and a nice car but he knew deep down that the needed "the blow torch to be applied" to 'stir his juices".

i see all these dudes i know off to do "boot camps" or "tough mudder' or hike "kokoda".

Why?

Because deep down , our pysche tells us that we need the fire to cleanse us, we need chaos to make it all meaningful.

Importing chaos will wake up "fat fritz" from watching HBO and dying in a durp state.

I wonder sometimes if gregg isn't a Freediver sock. I'm amazed how his sh!tting all over every thread he alights upon goes totally undisciplined, indulged, and accepted by the management here.
