. . .more than climate change.

I worry more about the islands of plastic in the ocean (that you can see) and the billions of plastic fragments in the sea (that you can't see).

I worry about the toxic chemicals spilling deliberately, negligently or accidentally into the rivers and streams that flow across the land and into the sea.

I worry about the heavy metals and rare earths and other toxic substances leeching into the water tables from landfills.

I worry about the coming "tidal wave of photo-voltaics" when the millions and millions of solar panels have to be replaced.

All of these things are or will be doing damage to our food sources and we can do something about it but won't.

I am more concerned with excessive human population.

We are killing and eating all other animals, evicting them from their homes.
Giving them nothing to eat, nothing to drink, nowhere to exist.

Everything.

I've never spent a single second of my life worrying about climate change.

No matter who or what causes it, there's absolutely nothing us humans can do to stop it (or even slow it down).

Life is far too short to worry about things you have no power over.

are we populating at the same pace we are killing each other...we have slowed down the dying naturally process but at the end of the day nature will get you...

so we have many dying naturally every day....

but on the whole we have many wars going on every day....we kill more on our roads every day...we murder each other every day...

seems to me the funeral business is the one to be in. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

I agree who want to stop CLIMATE CHANGE anyway... I can never get an answer to that...

seems to me we would end the world very quickly if we ever got close to doing that..

boges is talking about the things we do deliberately without thinking of the consequences....

like pouring fat down your kitchen sink...day after day..

like planting a weeping willow tress over your drain pipes.......it madness.

but people do do it..

Yeah, that sort of thing is just silly.

I don't go overboard, but I use the recycle bins when I can, limit my use of water, and try not to harm and flora & fauna.

Water supplies for the future, and overpopulation: these are the issues politicians should be working on.

Stop wasting money and time arguing over the causes of climate change.

It happens - it's always happened - get used to it - move on.

It's not an either/or scenario
And the fact is that we are already doing things to reduce our consumption of plastics. More and more people are using reusable shopping bags and nearly all councils have a recycling collection program.

Of course recycling (just like clean energy) is something that the conservative right wing like to attack on purely ideological grounds.

Your inability to impact in any meaningful way on your listening public?

Just asking.....

The lizards in my yard are a protected species and the birds eat my tomatoes daily while imbibing at my bird bath.  They also get bread thrown on the lawn.... the magpies and the butcher bird cop a shower when the hose is spraying the gardens.... lovely on a hot day...

The thing is though, what we do might be getting towards OK but, just as with emissions control, it's a grain of sand on the beach in relation to what China, India etc are not doing to clean up their backyards.
That's where the worry is.
