Speaker of Victorian Parliament Telmo Languiller sensationally quits

THE speaker of the Victorian Parliament has sensationally quit after it was revealed he claimed almost $40,000 to live in Queenscliff even though he represents a suburban electorate.

Telmo Languiller told Premier Daniel Andrews he would step down as Speaker today after several days of intense pressure on his position.

Mr Languiller said he had made an “error of judgement” and accepted that he should “pay the price for that”.

“I accept that my actions do not meet the very high standards that the community expects of its elected representatives,” he said.

Absolutely bloody disgusting! At least they resigned their positions and one can only hope they don't get re-elected or endorsed. That was just plain and morally dishonest use of entitlements
