Having worked in both public and private I found not a lot of difference. More corruption and overall probably less work done by many in private enterprise.

Some people work very hard in both and many are a lazy waste of space in both.

Private enterprise certainly puts on more extravagant 5 hr lunches, golf games, the pretence of work from home and the yearly junkets. I found all of this to be more rare in the Public system.

I agree!

I also have worked in big organisations both Public and Private and agree both have some very hard workers and some you wouldnt piss on if they were on fire!

Just like any cross section of society in my opinion!

This thread seems to be a place where people of somewhat limited intelligence can come to indulge in a bit of uninformed public servant bashing.

Over the years I have worked in large companies, statutory authorities, the Commonwealth Public Service and the NSW Public Service.  The Public Service does have some staff who don't pull their weight (but then so does everywhere else) and the majority do and there are some who perform work well beyond what is expected of them.  Some of the hardest working staff I have had were in the NSW Public Service.

And the slackest lot of workers I have encountered?  They worked for an engineering and construction company.

And if I had an employer who had not granted any pay rises for three years, I think I would be a bit wary about agreeing to work extra hours.

What really gets me is that public servants are paid with borrowed money.

Turnbull borrows $100 million per day to
keep the gravy train going & is too gutless
to take them on -
instead he goes after the weakest & most vulnerable people -
on social security - making their miserable lives even more miserable.

In a time of universal deceit — telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

No evidence whatsoever it can be attributed to George Orwell or Eric Arthur Blair (in fact the same guy)

I have also dealt with the Federal Sheltered Workshop and found them to be bordering on total incompetency and lackadaisical to the point of being pointless.

So if I attacked the brave men and women of the federal public service it is from a point of experience.

But feel free to defend the indefensible.  Smiley Smiley

And it is extra work minutes, not hours, 9 of them to be exact.

Get non- public servants to do the work.

Start firing the PS and make them do the same work as everyone else under the same conditions as everyone else.

Might kill a few, but fkk it. No real loss, hey?

The people on the gravy train & in the trough are our politicians.

Govts out - govts in ... all rely on the same PS & the staff to get anything done.

Yes ... & you are yet to expound the advantages that will be gained in working this 9 mins aka 3/4's of an hour - over a week.

You haven't been able to say whether or not you have read their current EBA

to determine what concessions they made to have their current hours listed as "normal hours of work" registered in a legal & binding document/industrial agreement.

You just rabbit on like a tunnel visioned delinquent.

Get non- public servants to do the work.

They have tried that and it hasnt worked out terribly well (IT and HR among others)

They end up bringing it back in-house in a lot of cases due to it not being done to a reasonable standard!

Private companies try to cut corners.

That's the dumbest comment you've made in this thread so far.

Who is "everyone else"?

Across all companies & industries there are EBA's - Enterprise Bargaining Agreements.

Not one would be the same in it's conditions & hours of work.

In fact the company I work for is the parent company of 2 other companies involved in the exact same industry & all 3 have separate/different EBAs.

It's a ruse by the parent company to screw employees into EA's with longer hours & less pay .... for doing the same sort of jobs.

For such a knowall you know f*#kall

Granted laziness and stupidity is not just the sheltered workshop, there are many other heavily union influence work site that would struggle to breath in an iron lung, maybe you work in one yourself.

Everyone else however, are the people who don't cry like little b1tches when asked to work an extras 9 minutes a fkken day.

That is what you are claiming is impossible to achieve, 9 fkken minutes.  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Sticking for lazy incompetent sh1ts like these clowns, does not look good does it.  Grin Grin Grin

No what I'm saying is that essentially people have to do the work, the issue in the PS at the moment is overload of work, thats why you see after a typical Liberal cost cutting move, all the retrenched staff rehired on contracts.

Are you just saying that for the purpose of supporting a feeble argument, or do you have actual evidence?

Because it seems like a load of sh1t.
