What should SA do regarding its power supply
Feb 10th, 2017 at 3:04pm

So South Australias electricity grid is stuffed for various reasons, too much renewable energy generation, closure of coal powered plant, over reliance on power from Victoria and NSW.

Urgent action is required obviously.

What should South Australia do to overcome this disaster
*    Nationalise its grid immediately
*    Build a new gas fired power plant
*    Build a nuclear power plant
*    Renegotiate the AEMO agreement
*    Require the second Pelican Point Plant to be permanently part of the grid

Here is a good article on the problem both in SA and Australia wide

They probably thought they'd eventually get along just with renewables.
Went down well with their mostly leftie voters.
Now the chicks are coming home to roost.

Get either a gas fired or coal fire plant up and running as fast as possible. Stop deluding themselves the that renewables is anything more than window dressing and wankery.

Until you accept the cause how are you going to agree on the solution.
But don't worry, you won't be on you own soon.

The latest blackout in Adelaide could have been avoided by turning on another generator at Pelican point, the one before could have been avoided if the severe storm cells didn't hit the towers, having windy mills are a bonus. what is going on in Adelaide, second earthquake in two weeks, I felt and heard the first one, bloody awesome, phew, no tidal waves.

Poor Longy -
how did he cope without his aircon?

I hope the same problem doesn't come to Victoria now
that they will close Hazelwood.

You know they had alternate gas power available that the federal body forgot to ask to be put on line till it was too late. They had adequate capacity just forgot to turn it on.

The problem was that it was under the control of the federal regulator who were asleep at the wheel.

I might put in a claim to those asleep at the wheel for sufferance, lucky I have a generator to run the essentials, not the A/C though. Mongrels.

Never mind Red, other states will keep sending you some power while they still have their fossil fuel plants. Probably not today though.
I see Canberra is expecting disruptions today. Another leftist-green paradise.
