I like Le Pen's catchphrase: "We're at a crossroad. This election is a choice of civilisations"

Still be very very surprised if she wins though. The French are too attached to the EU.

Post election she has come second with 22% to Macron's 24% .. a very narrow margin, and even more astounding as a 'Far Right' party in a country that has literally millions of Negroes, Arab Muslims, Vietnamese and the Rest all voting for anyone but Le Pen.

She would have swept in on the crest of a tidal wave if the voting had been restricted only to the generational white Christian French.

**

And yes, the hysterical Red Flag socialist mob did what they do best (Hi Marla) ~ spit the dummy and go on their own rampage of bile and spite.

'Protesters angry that Ms Le Pen was advancing to the second round scuffled with police in Paris'.

'scuffled'.  Grin

'Crowds of young people, some from anarchist and anti-fascist groups, gathered on the Place de la Bastille in eastern Paris as results were still coming in.

Riot police surrounded the area and tear gas was fired to disperse the increasingly rowdy crowd'.

Notice how journalists are happy to refer to Le Pen's party as 'Far-Right', but then can't manage to call these protesters 'Far Left', or 'Socialists' ~ such is the hypocrisy and leftwing bias of the media who with their repeated use of the term 'Far Right' in reference to Le Pen hoped to stigmatise her as the Anti-Christ so less people would vote for her.

They don't call it 'The Fourth Estate' for nothing.

**

'Following early vote counts, Ms Le Pen celebrated the "historic result" with her supporters while vowing to defend France against "rampant globalisation".

"The main thing at stake in this election is the rampant globalisation that is endangering our civilisation," she added, urging French voters to shake off the shackles of an "arrogant elite".

Bingo. Got it in one.

The arrogant elite political class who have been carrying out their own agendas for decades now.

(CNN)Voters in France have comprehensively snubbed the country's political establishment, sending far-right populist Marine Le Pen and political novice Emmanuel Macron through to the second round of the country's presidential election, early results indicate.
With 96% of polling stations declared, newcomer Macron was leading the field with 23.7%. National Front leader Le Pen was close behind on 21.8%.

The result upended traditional French politics: Neither candidate hails from the establishment parties that have dominated the country for decades.
It was a stunning victory for Macron, 39, a former investment banker who has never before stood for elected office and now becomes the favorite to become France's next President. "We did it," he told jubilant supporters.
It was also a success for Le Pen, who has spent years attempting to rid the Front National of the toxic legacy of her father. "It is time to free French people from arrogant elites ... I am the people's candidate," she declared.

the trouble is...

is that the Socialist parties got a belting...

now there's only two candidates left...

who are they going to vote for now??

Le Pen, who is on the Right??

or Macron, who is on the left??

they will vote for the Left Globalist Macron who will bury them into the EU and allow open borders allowing in more Terrorists...

even the dirty feminists are against Le Pen who could be Frances first female Leader... (let that sink in... feminist against a female becoming leader)

have you ever seen such a country willing to put a knife to its own neck??

oh yeah... Sweden, Germany etc..   Undecided

hahahahahah

The Oz poll is quite revealing, not of the likely outcome of the French election, but the usual wishful thinking of posters as opposed to considered evaluation of just about any subject.

I'm not surprised really, the infestation of far right posters here is not representative of the mainstream.

I selected Macron - and I am not at all surprised to see that he and Le Pen have made it to the runoff. Macron should win comfortably. Le Pen and Mélenchon both polled well, they are at different ends of the left-right spectrum but have a lot in common regarding protectionism. This is the real story here - another example of the people rejecting globalisation.

The presidential election isn't the only story though. Parliamentary elections are also due to be held in June. I expect the anti-globalisation parties to receive significant support in that election.

You're overstating your case here. It's not the far right that received a lot of support necessarily but the anti-EU and anti-globalisation parties, and in general a sound rejection of mainstream French politics.

The far left candidate Mélenchon received 19.6% of the vote and his party was only founded 14 months ago. Although a far left party, it has a lot in common with the far right National Front regarding the rejection of globalisation and the EU. Le Pen and Mélenchon finished in the top two in many regions, and in some regions they both finished in the top two.

There is a growing movement around the world that is rejecting mainstream politics and globalisation, both on the left and the right. The parties on the right have been around longer, so they are better known and have higher support, but new parties on the left are also emerging.

If you think it is only those of the right who post wishful thinking, I need only remind you that Greg continually declared a landslide to Hillary Clinton, but there are plenty of other examples of wishful thinking from the left.

Stopping Muslim immigration completely is not going to solve the problems in France.
They already have 5-6 million from their African colonies who are third generation French.

It has become obvious over the past few years that the biggest trouble is coming from the children of these immigrants. They are the ones mainly who are attracted to the medieval Islamic revival, not the original settlers from Algeria etc, many of whom were secular.

Quote:
The so-called ‘centrist’ French presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron doesn’t want to offend Muslims. He claimed terrorism would be a part of the daily lives of the French people for years to come. Just like croissants and good bordeaux. He may as well wave a surrender flag and then get down on a Islamic prayer rug.

Marine LePen wants to stop importing Islam and the terrorism that always accompanies it. She is the voice of sanity in a country gone mad with political correctness.

Even the pope made the ridiculous claim that ‘migrant’ holding centers are ‘Nazi concentration camps’ for Muslims. Apparently the Pope wants to help hasten the demise of his own Christianity. Europe seems to be ready to hand over their countries to Islam without a fight.

Sharia law is at odds with western civilization and Muslims will use violence to implement it. The Quran tells them to do this.

Socialists continue to welcome and embrace Islam because they consider it their best means to destroy Christianity–thereby making it easier to usher in their communism.

That’s why Obama and Merkel have eagerly flooded western civilization with Islam.

Soros is a big player in this scheme, too. What they really want is the erosion of the historically strong Christian foundation in western countries.

Marine Le Pen wants to end such insanity. She’s always labeled ‘far right’ by the mainstream media. There’s no longer such a thing as ‘right’ or ‘conservative.’

It’s always ‘far right.’

It’s just one of the pejorative terms used to impugn those who care about preserving the culture of one’s country. They are called ‘nativists’ or the ubiquitous terms “racist” and “Nazi.”
I don’t want to see France become a caliphate. I admire Marine Le Pen for making a stand against the Islamic invasion. I wish her the best of luck in the election.
—Ben Garrison

and here in lies the lies...

Le Pen is a conservative... but being labeled FAR RIGHT!!!

while Macron is FAR LEFT ... but is being labeled a Centrist

how anyone could fall for this bullshit is beyond me...
