The Federal Court this week granted orders compelling Anna Palmer to give evidence about what liquidators say are highly questionable transactions five days before her husband's nickel business collapsed.
On Friday Mr Palmer told AAP his wife was yet to be served with the orders, and claimed liquidators, FTI Consulting, were "trying to intimidate me".
"It's a bit low to do that to your wife ..." the former federal MP said.
"I'm the responsible one as the chairman of the Queensland Nickel joint venture."
He also suggested his court bid to have FTI dismissed as Queensland Nickel's liquidators may have motived the move.
But FTI Consulting says Mrs Palmer - as a director of two other companies controlled by her husband - signed off on questionable transactions worth hundreds of millions of dollars just days before Queensland Nickel went into administration.
FTI believes the transactions - involving Mr Palmer's China First and Waratah Coal companies - may have been "uncommercial or unreasonable" and not in the best interests of Queensland Nickel.
"Anna Palmer is a director of both Waratah Coal and China First, and was a signatory to the security agreement with QNI," FTI said in a statement on Friday.
"(This) ... is why we are interested in including her in our examinations."
A second round of hearings into the collapse of Queensland Nickel is due to begin in the Federal Court in Brisbane next week.
I cant put the picture of Anna up but you should see the gold she is wearing...
