We have world class equipment and modern buildings, but we don't yet have world class professional management or senior staff. Expert and adequate training can't be expected under the present circumstances if the people at the top are only in it for a job

My notes and opinion: A cancer cure should be proved to work time and time again with at least 80% of patients living past the generally accepted safe five year period after cure before publishing about it. Even then, it's best to keep your mouth shut, because curing cancer is a hit and miss affair, many sufferers' are cured, many are not

Cancer sufferers' should really become their own "doctor" and research everything about cancer, make decisions about what they want to do and who they want to treat them, but try to recognize quack doctors and stay clear of them. An experienced doctor who knows about cancer will recommend horrible things for you, cutting it out, burning it or radiating it, good doctors are getting it down to a fine art but the success rate is nowhere near 100%

A private doctor who recommends herbs or sticking a needle in you, can't be serious and is probably only after your money

Doctor blamed for giving paracetamol to dying toddler on NSW south coast

Nurses noted he had a high temperature, fast heart beat and was pale.
Three hours later he developed a rash.
Doctor Babak Tajvidi diagnosed him with a general virus, recommending paracetamol and sending him home.
But 24 hours later Troy’s condition deteriorated.
He was rushed back to hospital but couldn’t be revived.

My notes: Another preventable death, paracetamol and sending him home instead of administering antibiotics and being held for observation. The doctor appears to be young and probably too inexperienced to be employed as an Emergency Department Doctor. This is what the court found ....

The coroner’s court found Troy died due to a failure by the treating specialist in the ED to recognise signs of toxicity caused by sepsis, to investigate the possibility of the fatal bacterial illness and administer antibiotics.

The doctor was found to be at fault ... and the hospital must share the blame

Don't take anything for granted, speak up if things don't seem right

at a south-west Sydney hospital.

One
child was killed
and another was left with
serious brain damage
at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital in 2016, when nitrous oxide was confused for oxygen.

Safework NSW officially filed the charges in July this year.

A couple years ago i had a "mishap" at the hospital in brisbane. I went in for a liver biopsy and somehow (howwwwwwwwwww??????) they completely missed my liver and stuck the thing in my lung causing a psneumothorax. The only thing they were interested in was getting me to sign a million papers saying i wont sue them before they would even give me oxygen.

Eighteen patients suffered 'catastrophic' adverse events in NSW hospitals

My note: Sentinel events have come down in number over the years but still happen with most apparently being medical instruments being left inside patients after surgery, and ....

"The rest are likely to be mothers dying during pregnancy or birth, patients dying after being given the wrong medication, and patients dying or suffering "neurological damage" after an intravascular gas embolism."

Without publication, we are being kept in the dark about sentinel mishaps in our Hospitals

Two nurses sexually molested

Asylum seeker allegedly grabbed two nurses' bottoms after being rushed from Nauru to Australia for medical treatment.

The asylum seeker allegedly carried out the assault a week after he arrived at Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital on January 4 2019

The 38-year-old, who arrived in Australia in 2013, also allegedly threatened to assault both the nurses after he found out they had complained.

Lockdown at Nepean Hospital after 'bomb threat'

Nepean Hospital in Sydney’s west was in lockdown on Wednesday morning following a threat made to the emergency department.

NSW Police told Yahoo News a police operation has now come to an end after “a threat” was made and the hospital was evacuated as a precaution at about 11am.

Sydney doctor on trial for sexual assaults

A Sydney-based doctor touched 16 female patients for his own sexual gratification under the guise of a "medically necessary" examination they had consented to, a jury has been told.

General practitioner Sharif Fattah, 62, has pleaded not guilty in the NSW District Court to 30 charges of sexual and indecent assault allegedly committed over six months from September 2016.

Fattah was arrested in early March 2017 after three women approached police.

His other 13 alleged victims came forward within a month.
