Gordon - the question is

why after watching this countless times on the news was

it never mentioned that the cops had him on the Bolte bridge

& let him get away?

Are we being fed propaganda?

I'm beginning to more and more suspect so.  I've already posted that I reckon the Cops will not come out smelling like roses in this.  I reckon they totally bungled it, and people are dead as a result

Yes - the news missed the main point!

Of course it did Bobby, the real news was "cops bungled!" not "people were killed." Roll Eyes

You make a sincere point but in times like these
it's natural to look for people to blame.

No it's not Bobby, that is false, you should never look for people to blame, you should look for the truth.

Knee-jerk reactions are what has brought us in many ways to where we are today.

Never lose your cool, react with calm reason. Witch hunts solve nothing.

edit: You may be right to an extent, it may well be natural for some to do so but it's not the right way. That way should be fought by all men of reason.

And....it is inevitable....in my humble opinion.............it will be concluded that the Cops bungled this because they knew who he was, they knew he had just stabbed his brother in the head, they knew he had taken his girlfriend hostage, they knew what a wanker he was...and they failed to stop him when they could easily and safely have done so before he mowed down people....and then.....the Cops pulled out their guns.

They could have stopped him well before that, and without guns.

Most domestics don't turn into mass public murder, it's not reasonable to think they do.

Yes there is no way anyone could have predicted that this was going to happen.

Then again - psychotic drug users shouldn't be given bail.

That's right - blame the car..... not the nut at the wheel..... the one that fell off...

The hospital have given the guy the all clear, but he says he doesn't feel well, so he won't be attending court.

Jesus Christ, are you kidding me?

They can't charge the prick, because he's pulled a sickie!

Dotting the Is.. Imagine if claims of mistreatment in hospital compromised the case on any way.

I hope this guy has a very long and miserable life in prison.

He's a cab driver AND a lawyer.  That basically gives him superpowers in a situation like that  Grin

Its not uncommon for accused in custody to refuse to attend court hearings, they are of course charged with the offences before they attend court so he remains in custody with a possible contempt of court charge if the magistrate so decides. He can also be ordered to attend forcibly in chains although that is uncommon.
