In fact, these girls are expressing themselves as Australian and you're trying to stop them.
I'm not. It's their family, community and religion who is stopping them from showing their hair and skin.

There is nothing about showing your hair that makes you Australian.

In fact, it is very sensible as an Australian to cover your head.

And you call yourself a feminist??? Roll Eyes

I certainly do. I support a woman's right to wear whatever she chooses without recrimination.
So these women/girls have a right to wear whatever they want??? Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin it's either their beliefs or the road Mothballs.  Roll Eyes

Most women in Australia who cover choose to cover.

You should listen to them more, instead of imposing your own opinion onto them.

Doing, while you do, the exact thing you are accusing the Muslim men of doing.

How about you men just bugger off out of our wardrobes?

What are your thoughts on kindy girls being made to wear a hijab, like in the other thread where your absence is conspicuous.

Little girls usually want to look like mummy.

I have more issue with kindy kids wearing bikinis ... but that doesn't seem to confront society at large.

What are your issues with bikinis?

Your turn, bikinis?

I don't have a problem with grown omen wearing bikinis (although i think we should all go topless) but i hve very strong feelings about little girls wearing them .... and those pretend bras you can buy them in the shops.

Little girls have nothing to cover up.

There is no reason to cover anything up other than to say "look here, this is a site for future reference".

I personally think bikinis are more erotic than a woman simply swimming topless. I think bikinis on little girls are sick.

The vast majority of the time I see the crop top style, but yes there are some that look silly on a small child.

I can see your point, but If people are paying attention to prepubescent children it's their problem.

Isn't it more about what the girl herself thinks?

Are we still talking about 5 year old girls? They'll put on what ever swimsuit that's handy at the time. If men are looking at the space where their breasts will be that's their problem and they need chemical castration.

Then why draw attention to the place their breasts will be?

I think you're overthinking it, I just see it as 50% of a swimming outfit.

You refer to women as dollybirds?

I was talking about ads, and I'm using ad business terminology.

Are you? Just so you know, it's offensive.

Well obviously I was using the term to show my disregard for the ad industry.

Were you? Because it came across as disregard for women.

Why? Because i don't like sexualised swimming costumes for little girls?

I'd say that makes me a pretty great mum.

Making such young girls cover their heads for morality reasons in Islamic schools is also intersexualism them.

Mothra, are you concerned about a school with a Saudi Wahhabi curriculum forcing a morality based dress code on young girls?

Yes. I'm not convinced it's happening though.
