Ban the Burqa...
Jan 17th, 2017 at 6:29am

Quote:
One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has told Sky News if her party wins the Queensland state election it will ban the burqa from all government buildings.

Senator Hanson says a One Nation Queensland government will immediate investigate banning the burqu in all official buildings, including schools.

'I'm going to ban the burqa in government buildings and banks and schools,' she told Paul Murray.

'We are going to lead the way in Queensland, no driver's licenses wearing the burqa or anything like that.'

Senator Hanson has been firm on her push to ban the burqa from public places since her return to Canberra after last year's double dissolution election.

In their first joint interview since the defection of former Queensland Liberal National Party (LNP) member Steven Dickson to One Nation, the pair outlined potential policies the party will take to the next state election.

Senator Dickson announced he had jumped on Friday over the issue of medicinal cannabis.

'I've come across to One Nation because Senator Hanson was the only politician in this country who would come out and support these kids that need this medicine to stay alive,' he said.

Mr Dickson's decision to change parties gives One Nation its first lower house MP in eight years.

The Queensland state election is expected to be called later this year.

One Nations' political fortunes were further boosted after the party was given the green light to run in this year's WA state election, after two objections to its application were rejected on Monday.

WA electoral commissioner David Kerslake said Pauline Hanson's One Nation was not the name of an existing party and was not close enough to the name One Nation WA that it was likely to be confused with or mistaken for that name.

Senator Hanson also dismissed concerns she would be using taxpayers' money to fly to Western Australia to campaign, saying she always flies economy.

'Any travel that I do, I do it at economy. So I don't travel business class which I'm entitled to,' she said.

'If you do see me in business class it's because the airline have upgraded me, they feel sorry for me.'

Former Speaker Bronwyn Bishop told Sky News she believes Pauline Hanson will be a fierce competitor in both the Queensland and WA state elections.

'She's one tough, firm woman and she's learned a lot and she's not going to cop it this time,' She said.

'She's going in there to fight, and fight hard, and she'll be a real opponent in both Western Australia and in Queensland.'

Absolutely.

Important policies, that affect all Australians.

We can't have women choosing what they wear.

That's a job for fat old men and failed fish & chip shop owners sitting in parliament, surely.

What do they want next - the right to vote?

Ah.

I didn't see the bit about "security issue" in the article.

Perhaps you can point it out to me.

So, if it's about security, why did she only mention burqas?

What about masks, helmets, fancy dress costumes, sporting team mascots, etc.?

I'm curious.

Muslims are the security issue, always have been always will be. We need the same laws for mussies as we did with gun owners; isn't that why you feel so safe now, greegy?

Just because it wasn't mentioned  doesn't mean anything.  In sensitive places you should be entirely visible- FOR EVERYBODY. Schools because of peddos, banks because of hold ups and government buildings because of security issues.

I agree.

So, why didn't the ranga say that?

Why did she single out the burqa?

And where, exactly, does she mention "security issues"?

She probably did but it didn't make the article muppet. You do-gooders leave things out. Especially media do-gooders.
