They have different meanings EVERYWHERE. AS has been explained 5000 times to you in the past, a Paedophile is one who has a sexual preference for pre-pubescent children. They may not however, act upon it. A child molester is exactly what it sounds like and is usually not a paedophile but rather an opportunistic offender or one with poor impulse control or boundaries.

Its very easy to understand - for most people.

I think I will wait for AiAs explanation if you dont mind..

Of course it is worth splitting hairs. The reason we even have two different terms - paedophile and sex offender - is because they are two very different things. If you merge the two then you will end up having to qualify the word to make any accurate sense. So why not just use the ACTUAL meaning of words so that you make sense when talking to others?
