The coming Economic boom
Dec 23rd, 2016 at 12:53pm

It's Christmas, sitting in a comfortable reclining chair and I'll finally see home after months in that mausoleum of an apartment.  A surprise for the brood being a day "early", but I got the gifts professionally wrapped and sent to my wife to put under the tree.

I'd like to thank Bogarde and the rest of his cohort for being the antidote for a particularly annoying Aussie test engineer - who thankfully is no longer our problem.  Hopefully, he learns that a professional attitude towards ICT validation will give him more leeway in sounding off on America's politics.

I wish him well nonetheless.

Those who fail to comprehend the wave rising before them are doomed to be swept beneath it.

Our work is never finished of course, but when you're part of a quasi entrepreneurial venture that is becoming an arsenal of re-industrialization in America, a little respite from the comforts of home is welcome.

And we're hardly alone of course, being flanked by hundreds of similar outfits and possibly out-maneuvered by some; eh, not everyone can be as ignorant as Marla, especially with billion dollar industries swimming in a domestic national economy of trillions.

So take heart;

The gears have been in motion for months now, willing, hoping that God would favor us.  And He did, our People delivering us the election, setting this boiler alight.

The pieces have fallen into place and by some measures, we're already on the ground running.

Bets are being taken, hats are being thrown into the ring every day. Don't worry about the speculators; markets do this all the time when there's a revolution, a shake-up.

It's not about whether the Dow hits 20k or when the Trump rally ends.  The important part is that the banks and corporate America now know they can't sit on their money, idling with printed welfare checks as they buy back their shares.  We've dragged them kicking and screaming back into a bull market, slaughtering the world's bond market.  The Fed had no choice but to raise rates.

It was over right there.

Then again, it was over long before that.

A Fait accompli.

Capitulation from Tokyo to New York.  Now everyone from Beijing to the IMF is scrambling with too many dykes and not enough digits.  Money chases prosperity, not the other way around.  Any other way, and you lose money, whether to inflation or depreciation or taxation, etc, ultimately your old business model will die if it doesn't adapt to the new one.

You know to ignore the lesser fools in the media and elsewhere who don't even realize what's happened or can't admit it.

They have no choice but to bet on us.  If they own a bank account or a portfolio or have a mortgage in Sydney or Seoul, etc, they're betting on us whether they know it or not.

I perused a topic on this forum that claimed that a few thousand European immigrants were responsible for the economic expansion Australia experienced after World War 2, "driving" Oceana to prosperity.  Whoever wrote that, I thank him for the comedic relief it gave me.

Hey, I couldn't vent at work remember?  I needed to with an obnoxious Aussie telling everyone how the world works(these kinds of foreigners really don't know how Trump effects their lives even when it's employing them).

So as matter-of-fact as I can:

You are Australia.

Nothing you do drives anything your landmass, your agriculture, your people, including your "perspective" on America - you can't even drive your own economy.  You are an extension of larger economic trends in economies of scale and critical mass, one economy in particular.

Not even China drives its own economy.

How much less Australia?

There's so much more, but you probably see it unfolding. Months of work and prepararation waiting for the Big Break.  And now Luck favors the prepared.

I'm not counting chickens, mind you.  We may be one of the most solid divisions financially with backing and orders in hand, but as with most cycles, from frackers to internet companies, to PCs and Automotive, many won't make it to the finish line, at least not as currently organized, definitely not as orginally conceived.

But no matter what happens, America will be in the ascendant - whether we take the lion's share or someone else does, we'll all be bringing home bacon, and a new generation of Americans will see what it's like to be a "Reagan kid".

And for many Australians, well, you'll be along for the ride as usual, even the annoying ones.

So Merry Christmas to all, especially to Bogarde and co.

God Bless, and Glory to America.

Well Terry, I don't know about a boom but America will certainly be a more positive economic driver for the world economy under a Trump administration than it would otherwise.

But boom? You need effective demand surging for a boom and there is not much evidence of that. The contrary really.
Added to that is the impending charge of the robots and the consequences of that for aggregate wages is gloomy.

But optimism always Trumps pessimism for Bogarde.

$US165 billion in American exports to China ... so Trump is going to employ spoiling tactics against this revenue ... and make America great again?
