Temp controllers in cooking appliances
Dec 4th, 2016 at 3:07pm

These sort of frying pans would be ideal IF they have a better temp controller.

The controllers they use are the cheapest worst.
Just basically an on/off control.

If they used a proportional controller it'ld be much better.

What is that?

Mine just has a variable degree setting which seems ok, in fact the one you show seems to have a variable temp control as well!

I believe it does.
The ones I have tried are not so good.
The element is either off or not.
It's not like a 'normal' controler where you can put it on 1/2 or 1/8th heat and it simmers.

The ones I have used put 240V onto the element till a temp is reached, then 0V is on the element till it cools down.

So your one goes ok ?
You can vary the power 'well enough' ?
