Names (think about 'em.)
Dec 1st, 2016 at 1:42pm

Had to pick up at an address I know to be a Women's Refuge this morning.  (Frequency of pick ups at them will always surge this time of year especially over the Xmas Days themselves.)

The customer's name was Kantini.

There she was, mid 20s with two little fellas.  In they get.  We've gone no more than a few hundred meters when one of the young kids asks me, bright as a button....'What's your name?'

'Aussie, what's yours?'

He replies, 'Alcoha.'

'Huh?' says I.

Mum confirms, 'Alcoha.'

Anyone want to join any dots?

Nah.  (Well, none that I saw.  Think not.)

The three had a safe 'vibe' but the names just blew my mind.

Yeah..... we are looking at a generation of children with made-up names.  I get a genuine laugh occasionally when I see the names some of our kids are given today.

They will spend their lives spelling them out for people... or.. perhaps an old-fashioned assessment.

Names like Kaeliagh  and  Sharikha and Lataya and
Bayleigh  Smiley Roll Eyes

Waste of damned fine woman flesh.... you need the Daily Blag tattooed on her back so you've got something to read as you.. work.... daily renewal of tattoos must be hell...

WTS IS it with women these days and tattoos?

Damn - that makes Molly, Julius, Lukas (his mother is of German stock), Ashlyn (we're around 80% Irish) and Hunter sound tame.... my kids and grand-kids...

One of my half-sisters had a daughter named Bianca - she called her 'Anka' - read it for yourself... the father was a junkie and possessive as hell... my brother and I once hunted the streets for him after he beat that half-sister senseless and dumped her naked in a Maroubra street... not a joke... I'm getting it together in my writings....

Alcoha?  Aluminium cans of Alcohol caused you to be germinated, kid.... without it you'd never have been.......   Shocked

Footnote:-  Also had a mate with a Vietnamese wife, who The Skull shook up in a telephone box one evening - we hunted him with guns .... not a joke...  DVA shrinks never want to get too close to me and my mates sometimes... they really don't...... and we don't talk much... but at my age I don't give a damn, my dear....

And they make my kids names look tame! Welsh and Irish names.

edit: After thinking about whether I should say... Owen, Connor and Aidan. Grandkids, Samus and Elyssa.
Elyssa is spelled like that because it can be literally translated into Kanji, she's half Nip.

Hush - you old conservative you...  my son nearly became Miles, or Nolan, after his mother's mother from Dublin's maiden name, but a sister-in-law beat us to it....

Hush - and there be Christopher Nolan of Hollywood and his brother who writes and produces 'Person of Interest'... my kid's second cousins.....

Not a close clan, though.... just like mine... and I receive no benefit from the association.....

Why do parents do that schit?  Really,.......every time I get a job to pick up a (for example) 'Moon' or 'Storm,' I already have an inbuilt skepticism.  "It's gonna be another loser."

No-one yet has joined the dots on 'Kantini' and 'Alcoha.'

If you had more than two what would you call them?
