Passing through Mittagong NSW?
Nov 23rd, 2016 at 12:19pm

If you're hungry there's a patisserie in Cavendish St, a small factory size operation which opened a coffee shop a couple of years ago.
They boast a sign as Best Patisserie in NSW for a couple of years running.

I'd noticed it but never been there till morning tea today. Well the food is lovely and such a range.
I had a scone - a real melt in the mouth scone - as well as a crostinni filled with real cream. And nice coffee too. But they have all kinds of things as well as pastries - batards with all kinds of fillings, pies etc.

(I have no financial interest)

I may have to abandon my regular haunt at the Bradman, where I pass myself off as someone who knows and cares about cricket.

Robertson pie shop used to have the best pies. Not sure if they're still up to scratch or even if it's still there. If it is, it's worth the drive.

If I was at Dapto at 5pm and felt like a pie, would I make it to the pie shop by closing time (6pm) and what pies would they have left?

I told you I'd be calling on your local knowledge sometime.

Dapto to Roberston is a 30 min drive. As to what pie they'd have left, they're all halal so you won't be interested.

My best time was 24 mins ... of course, I didn't get any trucks in front of me.

Never timed myself, but I did it on a VTR1000 a few times in dry weather, no traffic, full set of points.

Is that  the Gumnut Patisserie? It doesn't look like a very inviting place to stop for a coffee but then, as they say, you can't always judge a book by its cover.

The last time we were in Mittagong, we stopped at the Shaggy Cow, in the town centre and had a rather nice light meal.  I wouldn't mind going back there next time we're passing through.
