That's bullshit.

People are unemployed because other people are not willing to offer them jobs and brainless unemployable slobs like you keep poisoning the well. The sooner you learn that the better.

offer them jobs

Offer forf/s  go out AND FIND ONE   Angry Angry Angry

Your jobs will do, you're unemployable and loaf about trolling internet forums all day.

Where do you work? We'll dob you in to your boss for being a slacker and you'll be on the dole soon enough.

But if me and fred become long term dole bludgers you will have to like us and constantly find excuses why we are constantly unemployed. And nobody wants that, do they?  Smiley

BigOl - you've never known poverty so you are unqualified to speak on the matter.
When I went to Uni I had to walk around in thongs as I had no money for shoes.
Top that!

I have mentioned several times on this board of my time in the 'recession we had to have', so my statement still stands, if you are stupid, you will always be poor, if you are not, any poverty is temporary.

Judging on your absolute reliance on youtube to 'prove' all of your arguments and your total inability to understand basic concepts, I'm calling no tertiary education, failed tertiary education, or an arts degree.   Smiley Smiley Smiley

Everybody in Australia has been so proud of the fact that the GFC had low impact in Australia they missed the fact that incomes are declining and jobs are disappearing with the bow wave of the baby boomers now on welfare with growing numbers for the next 2 decades.

The government foolishly considered that increased immigration would solve the problems. However there are not enough jobs to go around and those immigrants are now in the dole queues.

The portents are bad because before a problem can be fixed, it has to be exposed as a problem. Nobody wants to admit there is a problem.

What's next; the residents of Point Piper extracting more from dumpsters than they put in?

What is killing the economy is not the GFC but neoconservatism. Under Howard the hollowing out of the economy started, under the present total shambles we have lost the car industry and much more.

Poverty in Australia: We've never been richer, so why hasn't the poverty rate budged?

Hold the phone!

Let me answer that one.

And the answer is : As a percentage of the population the number of bludgers and idle stiffs hasn't changed over the years.

Most of these 'impoverished' are the victims of their own sloth. It really is as simple as that.

No work - no pay.

Just a minimal survival income on the dole.

if you want to get more people into work, the answer is obvious - create more jobs. So how are you going to create the 3 million extra full time jobs we need?

I don't want to get more people into work.

That's entirely up to those who choose a minimal lifestyle on a low income from government assistance and the occasional work-for-cash arrangement.

All I'm saying is that the statiticians shouldn't try to promote the nonsense that those who want to work can't find a job.

I personally proved it over and over again for years that even as an aging fellow there's work out there if you're willing to accept what is offered to you.

Not for a moment do I believe these young people who are out of work cannot find a job. Not for the briefest moment.

As I said - I'm okay with you if you want to live minimally on the dole or whatever, but don't bullshit the rest of us that your impoverisahed state is somehow society's fault.

If there was 700,000 jobs and 200,000 unemployed, you'd be quite correct.

But, since the reverse is actually the case...

There is no doubt there is a section of our society that choose not to work , and they will arrange their affairs to be professionally needy.

They are the ones that are making life harder for the genuine welfare cases.

As for employment,,, I know right now I would not like to be looking for a job, things are as tight as a drum.

I am too far away from retirement age,, yet probably too old for the 27 year old female HR person to hire.

I may commit a crime and get locked up as my next career move.

Rabid nonsense.

There are so many 'entry-point' jobs out there that are going unfilled that the government has resorted to speeding up the importation of tens of thousands of Third World immigrants and refugees.
