For eons the darling of the American left, will it be revealed that he is on the Trump payroll?
It's over a year now he has been warning that Trumpcould be elected. His warnings have allegedly been aimed at getting Dems off their butts and voting to stop him.
And he recently released a movie, again supposed to be warning of rthe danger of Trump.
But he now admits to "freaking out' that his messages may in fact have unintentionally helped Trump.
Methinks he doth protest too much.
It's a matter of pride for Michael Moore now. He watched Trump storm through the primaries and predicted a massive Trump win in the election. He's simply backing his prediction.
And yes, some of Moore's analysis has helped Trump. Moore's pitch since the late 90s has been the failure of US capitalism and the slow death of rust-belt towns like Flint Michigan, where he grew up.
Michael Moore sees Trump as a symptom of the decline of the US, not a solution. But by identifying the social problems that Trump has capitalized on, Michael Moore has fueled the Trump campaign.
With Sanders, there was some hope of a solution to these problems, but there's no longer much faith in the political process. If Obama couldn't do it, who can?
The Clintons are definitely part of the neoliberal economic system that has led to the decline of the US. Trump's a property developer. The only thing he's been a part of is funding Hillary's various campaigns.
Neither will be able to implement the change the US needs to see. The office of president is not that powerful, particularly with an obstructionist congress and senate.
At the very least, Hillary knows how the system works and what she can achieve. She has learned from her mistakes and cut her political teeth on issues like universal health care. She may well not be able to raise the national minimum wage, solve the massive household debt level, and fix Obamacare, funds that mainly go into the pockets of the health insurance companies. She may not be able to solve the national debt. She may not be able to solve international issues like the economic and military rise of China and Russia, or even problems within NATO.
But as a seasoned political expert, she is far more equipped to deal with these issues than Trump. The best Trump's followers can come up with is well, at least Trump might shake things up a bit.
The US does not need shaking up, it needs solutions to its domestic and international problems and a bi-partisan, interagency agreement to work on them.
