as crime is escalating now its time we got tougher..

"Has the murder rate in Australia gone up?

"No. According to the national recorded crime statistics published by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), the murder rate in 2000 was 1.6 per 100,000 of population. In 2014 (the most recent year available), the murder rate was just 1.0 per 100,000 of population."

"What about attempted murder? That’s declined too. According to the ABS, in 2000, the recorded rate of attempted murder was 2.0 per 100,000 of population. In 2014 the recorded rate of attempted murder was 0.6 per 100,000 of population.

"National crime statistics show that since the year 2000 the recorded rate of:

- break and enter has declined by 64%,
- motor vehicle theft has declined by 69%,
- robbery (the classic “street” crime) has declined by 63%; and
- general stealing offences have declined by 37%."

FactCheck: is crime getting worse in Australia?

"As for people believing they don’t feel safe on Australian streets, surveys show that most people think crime is increasing when it is not. ** – Don Weatherburn**"
Those figures may apply to Victoria Park but not Western Sydney. You certainly have to watch yourself out here. There's an ice epidemic happening. We have marauding gangs of "new Australians" causing issues. We have high Maori crime caused by the fact that they can't get the dole. Add to that the stress people are feeling due to a whole bunch of factors makes  it not a really a happy place. Doesn't help that it gets second class services.

"But some crimes have gone up. We have a growing problem with methamphetamine use."

If it's so bad, why don't you move to Vic Park, Homo?

Western Sydney has the largest population of ethnic Australians in the country. I thought you lived out here. My area is around 50% anglo/celt. You Indians are taking over.

I'm not a pom in UK. Of course I am well fed and have been well fed in many countries I have lived.

Depends on what you are looking for. Career? There are better places. Culture, ditto.

USA is. Taxes are lower, houses and all goods are cheaper especially restaurants.

I live in the USA now and I don't think the answer is an easy one but what Unforgiven says is true.
