Thanks for the footage Sprint ....  every time I see her race I am enthralled. Smiley

Just truly magnificent.

Next race will be a few months away.

All else being equal she will win her 3rd Cox Plate. Smiley

Just love her.

Now, I have always loved horses, and had some experience with them, and have had a few faves in the past.  Octagonal and Doriemus to name a couple. But WINX is something else.

I reckon she could even win the Melbourne Cup, if they trained her for it. Smiley Whether that ever happens?  we'll have to wait and see.

As for Melbourne Cup Winners....  my absolute favourite was KIWI.

I used to be more into horse racing.

WINX is among the best I have seen.
At times I thought she had been badly ridden and still won.

KIWIs win was a well ridden race, what was he, 20 lengths behind the leader as they turned??

Yep ..  Kiwi was last on the turn.

Just watched some of Winx's earlier races, thank you.

The 2016 Cox Plate was amazing.!

Wink Wink

Is that magnificent or what??

In an earlier race, the Doncaster Mile she was stuck back in the field, but NOTHING could stop her that day either.

Commentators during the Q E Stakes remarked that she has beaten 44 Group 1 winners in her career.
Outstanding.

Don't suppose you could find Kiwis win in the 1984 (?) Melbourne Cup.?

Thank you.!
Talk about Jimmy Cassidy..!! How young was he then!!

Oh I know KIWI was a one-off.
He was a pony, in comparison to the rest of the field. He was ridden by his owner as a stock horse, on the verdant hills of NZ.
The fact that he won will always be an inspiration to me.

Winx remains, for me, the best. She is closing in on Makybediva  as the greatest stakes winner in Oz racing history. But that isn't what counts really. It is her sheer supremacy.

She seems to just canter over the line.

I think WInx is much better than Makybediva

She wins going away from them.

When Kiwi won I was a schoolkid in NZ.

To have a horse called Kiwi in the Melb cup was huge.
I heard the race live, the only commentary on Kiwi was  '.......... and Kiwi trails the field.........'

Until He won.

She does indeed.

She snoozes through the middle of the race, then just wakes up and waltzes past and keeps on going.
She could win the Melbourne Cup...She has  always won at shorter distances, BUT she has the class and the heart to take on a longer run.  Don't know if the owners would want to put that to her, but trained for it..??  Anything is possible with Winx..  Smiley

The jockey giving his horse 'snooze' time is crucial.

I did a bit a sprinting, 100 --> 1600 meters.
Finishing strongly is where it is at.

On a longer horse race, the horse that finishes better does better.
So they have to have a snooze before the finish.
Kiwi snoozed for about 2000 meters.

Winx's jockey does not allow Winx to snooze while running.

'snooze' is a lovely phrase.

Amazing horse that I think that in all respect of humanity and horsedom, you should refer to it as an it.
Because it is a horse and has no thinking whatsoever for some buggerhole feminist movement.
It doesn't even know its a horse, let alone a friking female horse batting for some human feminist movement.

Get a grip. Show some substance yourselves, and stop insulting those poor horses.

....horsehead  Grin
