Going to the dentist
Oct 21st, 2016 at 11:38am

I've just had the best ever experience at the dentist.
Just a check up & clean, but why didn't anybody ever tell me before about this anaesthetic gel they put on your teeth& gums before a clean?
The hygienist tells me it's been around for ten years or more. I've always had awful pain in that process but this was beautiful.

And are the dentists getting younger or am I getting older? Fair dinkum, she looked about 18 and gorgeous with it.

I had my check up & clean yesterday (free, thanks to Medibank - although, considering the premiums I pay it's hardly "free").

I didn't feel the need for anaesthetic, though (pussy).

Actually, my dentist rarely uses anaesthetic, even when there is work to be done.

He's a short (older) Asian dude.

A hot 18 year old woman dentist sounds nice.

You're not a star, Bogie, so I hope you didn't grab her anywhere.

I hate the descale and clean.

It is the worst part of visiting the dentist, imo.

I'll have to ask about the anesthetic gel next time i go!

My regular dentist retired recently, and yes, the new guy is/seems very young,    ....but he seems very competent.

But so 'babyfaced'.     Smiley

Yadda's dentist also serves as his proctologist and phrenologist.

Years ago, i visited Yemen.    [...true]

And i think i remember that guy, in Aden.

He was a stone mason by day.

Dentistry must have been his night job.

Did your dental hygienist wear a mask, Bogie?

"night job"?

They sound like very busy, hard working people.

When do they get time to make bombs?

How would an 18 year old be a qualified dentist?  Dougie Howser was just a fictional character.

Well, dentists rarely do the cleaning.

She would have been a dental hygienist.

They do three years training.

So, she might have been twenty.

Way too old for Mr Trump.

I said "she looked about 18", of course I knew she had to be probably 24 . . .duh! She was so competent though and such a great chairside manner. But she had nothing to do except some xrays, Bogarde's teeth are in perfect shape, as are his body & mind.

Someone asked about the gel. The hygienist said it was the same stuff the dentist applies before they give you an injection. I didn't even know they applied anything, I'm too busy praying to Allah.
I'm so annoyed that nobody ever offered it to me before. My teeth or gums are ultra sensitive, but this stuff is magic. It only lasts for about 10 minutes so they get into it straight away, do the top teeth completely & then apply it to the bottom teeth.

What a change from the days of Bogarde's youth, when the dentist's day job was blacksmith. To this day I shudder when I pick up a pair of pliers.
