Putting refugees in aged care facilities?
Oct 2nd, 2016 at 1:04am

Quote:
A community in Melbourne's northeast is divided over plans to move refugees into empty rooms at an aged care facility.

The message at this morning's protest in Eltham was clear: "locals come first".

"Our elderly care system is for our elderly care people, not for Muslims," said one protestor.

"Eltham's major care centre is not for refugees," echoed another.

One protector added: "We don't need a getto like that in Eltham."

Protestor Sandi Pike's 87-year-old mother lives at the aged care facility and is worried about the prospect of Syrian refugees moving in.

"No-one seems to care about the residents and that's what it's all about," Pike told 7News.

>snip<

While most of the buildings at the aged care centre are occupied, there are a number of vacant units and those could be used to house more than 100 Syrian refugees.

Despite this, protestor Gary Hughes said: "They can build a unit for them somewhere else, not an aged care facility."

Bizarre!  What next?  Let's take a few thousand more and put them up in kindergartens.

Unbelievable!

The oldies would be wise to lock up their valuables and keep their doors locked

What happened to the migrant hostels they used for new arrivals after ww2?

Why not just cut out the middle man and put them straight into jail?

After all, thats where they will all end up anyway.

Grin Grin Grin

85% of the Afghan refugees a few years ago were still unemployed after 5 years. Unskilled work not requiring reading, riting, or rithmatic.

Cleaning jobs, factory work, council landscaping/mowing, taxi-driving ...

85% preferred to stay on the dole for 5 years and longer, with some of them very possibly taking holidays back to Afghanistan to see family and friends.

Western governments like Australia are run by idiots.

How about we declare their homeland safe again and send them home?

That's what Angela Merkel said in response to the backlash from the anti-Muslim protesters. She made the point very strongly that a huge percentage of the 1.1 million Muslim refugees she opened the gates to are expected to return to their homelands when it's safe to do so.

Needless to say, the German public is not entirely composed of complete idiots, and of course no such exodus from Germany will ever be occurring in the future because Syria and the others have been restored to peace.

I wonder how Australia's Muslims are now feeling after the 49% rejection of them from the poll?

A young Muslim male with his biblically-dressed mother gave me a very dirty look yesterday.

It might be time these people were quietly shown the door with a fat cheque to send them on their way.

This is a disgrace..a bloody disgrace.
If an aged care facility can be altered to a general care
facility just to house refugees, then what about australians
who are living under the poverty line. Can anyone tell me where in Australia there is a general care facility..there isnt one anywhere near me. To make matters worse, there is
a caveat on the Eltham facility that states residents have to be 65+. I suppose you can always change that to suit everyone.
This stinks...it bloody well stinks...

Their homelands were never 'safe' in the Western sense, and you can bet they'll play on this to stay in the West where the money is.

Australia has been in Afghanistan for 15 years now - but it's not safe?

Bring our boys home and tell those Afghan arseholes it's time they managed their own affairs.

And forcibly deport immigrant Afghans back to their country of origin.

And I wonder why their homeland is so unsafe???????

Oh Yeah, Thats Right, .......because of the sick, twisted, brutal and retarded religion there.

And what do they want to do in Australia?

That's righttttttttttt, they want to practice this sick, twisted, brutal and retarded religion.

Get rid of them, they don't fit.
They will never fit.
They don't want to fit

Correct.

Ultimately every Western country will find itself with a politically active core Muslim membership that wants mandatory representation in government.

Power-sharing is definitely on their agenda.
