Shame about the drop in nutrition.
CO2 crop growth enhancement and toxicity in wheat and rice.
CO2 is postulated to increase yield by 30-40%.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11540191Nutrition could drop by 9.3%
'Crops grown in the high-CO2 atmosphere of the future
could be significantly less nutritious, a new study published today in Nature suggests. '
'The current atmospheric CO2 level is 400 parts per million; in the enriched plots, it was between 546 and 586 parts per million, a level scientists expect the atmosphere to reach in four to six decades.'
'The largest was a 9.3 percent drop in the zinc level in wheat. '
Increasing CO2 Threatens Human Nutritionhttp://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2014/05/140507-crops-nutrition-climate-c...So they are saying in future nutrition MAY drop. Of course that is today's cultivars and not those yet to be created.
And aliens may make contact and give us technology.
Apparently humans need as much zinc as 11mg/day. Weeta-bix (similar to Weetbix) gives 1mg/serve (two Biscuits). So your Weetbix (97% wholegrain) ain't gunna save you anyway. So 10% less would equal 0.9mg/serve.
But there are other sources of dietary zinc, apart from supplements.
