Hey Herb, do you know what triggers these migraines, like springtime?
Or something you ate?

It's taken the Endone 1.5 hours to ease the pain a little, but unfortunately Endone is so addictive that I don't dare take another one when the pain starts to return.

No worries.

Sorry about the migraine, Herbie.  Take whatever you need to ease the pain.

Is Endone really that addictive? I really have no idea.

Get "better" soon.

Thanks Neff.

My GP refused to prescribe Endone for me for several weeks after I told him about my migraines. Eventually I had to read him the Riot Act that either he prescribes it for me - or "Bye Bye, Charlie".

I'm so careful about taking Endone that I've had a little packet of them for literally years now in my medicine cabinet.

But as I say - I'm one of the very lucky ones who doesn't suffer from full-blown Migraines except very occasionally.

Shocking things migraines.  Sorry you have to suffer with them Herbert.  Do you know what triggers them?

A friend of mine suffers badly.  First he thought it was chocolate, then perfume, then cheese, then red wine.  Now he says it is his wife   Grin

I would say "get rid of the wife" but you don't have one!

Actually I'm one of the very, VERY lucky ones who mostly gets 'aura' type migraines followed by feeling sick in the stomach, and then a mildish headache.

But today's has been an absolute lulu.

Went to bed at 9.00am with no headache, and fell asleep almost immediately ... and then woke up at 1.30pm with the worst headache I've had in literally years.

Next time I won't go to bed when the 'aura' attack comes on. I'll just see it out - which usually lasts for about 1.5 hours with me never taking any sort of pills for it.

My GP hasn't a clue about any treatments for Migraine attacks.

And then we have $160,000,000 being spent on ....

Utterly insane.

herb a GP wouldnt know much....have you ever gone to a Neuro Hospital..... where I do believe they are trying to find a cure......

maybe you slept real deep and in the wrong position...I remember John Laws having similar problems....he had a massive cyst below an eye around the sinus area.....

I dont think it would hurt if you tried stopping getting so worked up. either.. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

just sayin!

I wish I knew, but it doesn't seem to be anything I eat.

What I've come to suspect is that the 'aura' type migraine is caused when I'm suddenly and unexpectedly driven to anger about something through frustration of some sort.

I spill coffee on my keyboard ... or one of the goddamned cats keeps begging me for my attention for no good reason when I'm busy with something and pressed for time.

There used to be a migraine tablet a few years ago that cost ... waaait for it ... $40 EACH.  Grin

If you've got a migraine,  Hebie,  the worst thing you could be doing is reading a screen.  I'm surprised you can even make out the words.

When i get them,  i lie down in a dark room.  When I'm not vomiting that is.

I've been sent off to so many specialists in the past few years that it's actually become a little embarrassing.

I had so many X-Rays that my GP told me I won't be having any more for awhile or I'll start to glow in the dark.

That's very kind of you.

I think Miketree's current depression is a much bigger concern than the occasional headaches of mine.

I hope you feel better soon Herb..I have had in total half dozen migraines and mine were caused by muscular tension in my neck and back so finding a cause is key- therapeutic massage to the area always relieved them.

Now I stretch my neck and back a lot.. good luck.

Sounds good.

I used to have a mild migraine about once every 6 months before my heart operation ... but then after they put in the new aorta valve I was then put onto Ramipril and Asprins for the rest of my life.

And that's when the migraines began in earnest - sometimes recurring every day for a week or so, and then at other times only occurring every few weeks or so before then returning to be daily events again.

I can't stress enough how lucky I am to have only the very occasional bad headaches.

If I was a Bill Gates I would be spending millions on helping to find a cure for this debilitating illness.

I'm off to bed again ... see youse.

Be good while I'm away, and Yes, that includes you too, codsey-baby.  Kiss
