Yes, we have more people and more rules, and more consumerism, and more wants, when back then, it was a good thing to have water to drink and wash with, a warm bed, a roof over your head, and food on the table, and good honest friends and family that were supportive.
Also, everyone had more time for other people, whereas now, the more time we save with chores done by machines, the less time we have for anything, including old fashioned visiting friends and family. We fill it with other stuff, seems we can't just do 'nothing'.
For instance, I would love for the hubby's cousin and her young teen kids to come over and stay, but they are so busy, with the kids activities, and sports, it saps up the time, every week, a routine, must do it.
In the meantime, the years tic by, and then when we do see each other at a funeral, its "Oh gosh, the kids have grown up so fast!"
So why do we, in these enlightened times of the 21st century, seem to do more but have less time to do it in?
Have we expected too much of ourselves to keep busy, just because we have it easier in other ways?
Is time really going faster?
One thing I noticed, I thought, up to now, I have done a lot, so why have I this overwhelming feeling, that I have more to do that I feel I can't seem to get done? Is that a sign of older age, or new age?
