I was referring to the aboriginal chorus line, of course.

At least they should put a telephone tower on top of it, or flatten it off at the top and make it a rocket launching pad.

They would have enough telephone coverage for Alice Springs, even without one there on the rock. But a rocket launching pad, perhaps.

They should dig that thing up, put it through a crusher, and sell it to the Chinese. Use the hole for landfill.

Good point Setanta
I've often thought that Muslim extremists are actually just right wing Muslims. They have a lot of similar values to Western right wingers, including the desire to blow things up.

Yeah, but imagine the beautiful hole it would leave. Think of all the bald tires, clapped-out washing machines and stuff it would take. Not to mention all the domestic garbage in perfumed pastel colour trash bags. The hole would attract every fly from Perth to the Torres Strait. That's where that useless solar array in SA comes in. We build the world's largest ultra-violet fly zapper over Ayer's Hole, and suddenly it makes the Bush livable for immigrants. And as a bonus, we are no longer mesmerized by that fly crawling across a politician's face during open-air TV interviews.

Thinking of really bad ideas.

Why dont we make the big rock a copy of Mt Rushmore.

Imagine having little Kevvy and Fatbum Gillard smiling down on the tourists.

And over at The Olgas you could have Malcolm Fraser looking every bit like an Easter Island stone monument.

Probably cant fit keating in anywhere, dont want to scare small children

(Ideas man Me)

It will always be Ayers Rock to me...that's what it was called when I climbed it and that's what it shall stay.  Tongue

You know we could make another huge monument, bigger than Ayres Rock by gathering up the empty beer cans and bottles on the side of the road and around camps, smoosh them together.

I would say we could do it in about two years
