One Nation senator Pauline Hanson has told Andrew Bolt on Sky News that Muslim immigration needs to stop until more Muslims speak out against radicalism.

Elected two months ago, the senator said she wanted immigration halted until Muslims can prove their eagerness to integrate.

'Show that you respect our culture and way of life. Stand with me and say yes we are Australians, and we don't want the radicalisation here. Prove that you are willing to join us and become Australians.'

An essential poll this week showed 49 per cent of Australians agreed with Hanson's call for a ban Muslim immigrants.

Ms. Hanson says the thinks the number is, in reality, a lot higher, but people are reluctant to express their views in a poll fearing their opinions would be registered.

'The Australian people have opened their arms to refugees over the past years, but we need to see more Muslims embrace our culture and way of life.'

The senator said she felt under constant attack for merely expressing what she was seeing happening in the community,

'I have based my views on facts. I'm only the messenger, don't attack me. I care about our country and the people and the terrorist attacks that have been happening.'

Ms. Hanson says it was important to know what has been taught in mosques and schools to combat the problem of radicalism.



The senator said radicals were Muslims that followed the Quran to the letter.

'What they are wanting is to have Islam around the world which comes from the Quran teachings.'

Last week Ms. Hanson's delivered her maiden speech warning against Islam prompting a walkout by the Greens.

I served for 8 years in the Australian Army with a Muslim digger.

I have studied with Muslim students for numerous years.

I have worked with Muslim Australian workers for numerous years.

Never had a problem with them.  They are ordinary people who just happen to worship a different God to Christians.

When you actually meet and talk to real Muslims, hell will freeze over.
