is it ok to Brag?
Aug 28th, 2016 at 11:36am

my eldest grandson is taking part in the Golden Gloves boxing comp in Qld.. and I have just heard he was won all his fights and is in the final.. I am very chuffed for him.   I am not a fan of boxing but he took it up this year  and I try to support whatever they choose..... so I am bit chuffed for him..he never told anyone about his first fight here in Canberra.. even mum and dad....he won it but his next one was cancelled as he had a clot in his nose....which had to be dealt with.. I am not that happy he returned to boxing but what can you do...

it may be just a passing phase.. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Isn't that human nature for parents and grandparents to 'brag'. Nothing wrong with that.

well,   I am so lucky I have great grandkids...5 boys and 1 girl.. I dont count my eldest granddaughter as she isnt a blood granddaughter but just as important of ,course.. the rest all show signs of maturity always always kiss and cuddle me..one even lived with me for 6 months...and didnt so much as disappoint me...I could brag about them all day..

the eldest one the none blood one  does give me a few headaches.. but thats another story...but I never give up.. you may have gathered that from some of my posts.... like a terrier I keep at it..

I guess that means he was beaten in the Final.  Still, well done him.  Did you say how old he was?

I loathe boxing but good luck for your grandson. He's not related to Anthony Mundine is he?  Grin

Golden Gloves is the supreme amateur event in Queensland.   Your Grandson (you were confusing on age) did well to get to the Final.

Went to School with a Golden Glove winner.  Just did a Google.  There he is, so I cannot give the name as my stalkers would be all over it.  He went on to compete in finals for National Titles but never won one.

UNLESS you can prove ALL these "I know somebody who was ........."  you are considered a person with a Big Head and No Heart. So STFU about WHO you know .... or come clean and take the consequences.

STOP trying to be Mister Wonderful.  The more you crap on, the less people believe anything you say.

That's a fair cop from you, a retired Ophthalmologist, married to a Lawyer who has a daughter who is a highly qualified medical specialist, and who knows that the Constitution ensures that the Lord's prayer must be observed every time Parliament sits.
