Senior government public servants are being awarded average pay rises of more than 40 thousand dollars a year.Top public servants are taking home pay packets of more than a million dollars with the bureaucrats wage rises far outstripping private sector wage rises since 2008.
It comes despite a decline in productivity in the public sector.
The analysis of Remuneration Tribunal decisions, reported by News Corp on Wednesday, shows cumulative salary rises over the past decade reaching almost 70 per cent.

Opposition leader Bill Shorten says the community 'is legitimately concerned' about the wage increase.
'I saw that table I thought goodness me! That is massive,' Mr Shorten said during his address to the National Press Club.
So I think there is legitimate community concern at the processes set independently but when I looked at some of those pay rises I think my reaction was the same as perhaps yours and millions of Australians that with respect to the professionalism those increases I don't know how they can be easily explained.'
