Cannes has banned Muslim swimming outfits
Aug 13th, 2016 at 8:43pm

"Anti-racism organisations and human rights groups have vowed to overturn a "deeply worrying" ban on the wearing of burkinis — full-body swimsuits — on the beaches of Cannes.
Key points:

Access to beaches banned "to anyone who does not have [bathing apparel] which respects good customs and secularism"
CCIF says ban an "attack on the most basic principles of law", plans to oppose it in courts
Socialist branch says ban will "play into the hands of religious fundamentalists"

Cannes' mayor David Lisnard signed off on the ruling that "access to beaches and for swimming is banned to anyone who does not have [bathing apparel] which respects good customs and secularism", which is a founding principle of the French republic.

SOS Racisme attacked what it said was the mayor's "strategy of tension".

An umbrella organisation of groups against Islamophobia, the CCIF, said it was "deeply worried" about the ban, which it viewed as "a new attack on the most basic principles of law".

People have had enough of humouring these religious fanatics.

When in Rome ...

And needless to say it has absolutely nothing to do with race, ethnicity, or a person's skin colour.

It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

However, the usual line of "brain"-washed Islamophobes will lap it up.

Is it OK Is it lawful for tourists to Saudi and the Gulf States, to wear skimpy bikinis on public beaches there ?

No.

Why not ?

Because it would transgress Sharia law and the local cultural norms, in that part of the world.

It would be nice every now and then if you had a point.

Yeah?

Yes, but you must admit, banning bikinis with hoods, sleeves and legs will do wonders for the tourist industry.

And remember, as Herbie says, Quote:
it has absolutely nothing to do with race, ethnicity, or a person's skin colour

These arrogant bitches are told by their community leaders to flaunt their Islamic religiosity in public as a PR exercise in getting the locals used to multicultural 'diversity' and the creeping Islamisation of their national homeland.

This mayor has had the guts and the patriotism to strip these arrogant bitches of their alien and deliberately provocative attire so as to promote France's secular cultural traditions as the dominant ethic on those beaches.

He should be given an award for clearing these arrogant bitches off the beaches where 21st century Westerners have every right not to have to suffer the spectacle of these religious Neanderthals in their ridiculous outfits.

Yes, that must be it.

These people should grow up and put away these childish toys of medieval religiosity - or better still - bugger off back to the Middle East.

These are arrogant bitches who KNOW they are being confrontational and abusive towards the secular culture of the countries they migrate to because their own Islamic homelands are shithouses compared to Western societies.

"Phit in or PHUK OFF!" should be every Western country's policy towards their Muslim population.

A French court has supported the ban (will miracles never cease?!)

"The French resort of Cannes has won court backing for its "burkini ban" as a judge refused to overturn its decision to forbid Muslim women from wearing the full-body swimsuit.

Local authorities in the Riviera city, home to the famous Cannes film festival, moved to ban burkinis from beaches at the end of July.

The nearby resort of Villeneuve-Loubet followed suit on Saturday.

Three women backed by the Collective Against Islamophobia in France (CCIF) challenged the Cannes decision in court, saying it was illegal and calling for it to be suspended.

But a court in Nice rejected the request, saying the move was legal under French law forbidding people from "invoking their religious beliefs to skirt common rules regulating relations between public authorities and private individuals".

The French are at last beginning to wake up to themselves.

An interesting point from a scientific basis.  Given we know that as people we make decisions based on our genetically make up and our upbringing (our learnt experiences etc) it isn't hard to see how a person can be coerced into wearing something like a burqa.  Especially in states where not doing so would bring at the very least community condemnation.  Of course, some women may make the decision conscientiously, but it would not be a majority, knowing the normal circumstances under which these decisions are made.  Therefore, affirmative discrimination in this case may not be a bad move in order to offer true liberal ideals. Creating an environment without the burqa may very well lead to women having a chance at making decision free from coercion.

...

A degraded, humiliated, depersonalised woman, denied her human dignity by Islam.

2016, France.

Ban the niqab/burqa. No place for this sort of degradation in a civilised society.

Even if there is no direct condemnation for not wearing Islamic dress, there would no doubt be positive feed back FOR wearing it so that amounts to pressure,  and that's a best case scenario.
