Sorry to here that!

I had it on in the background, quite spectacular as they usually are.

Was intrigued how they had the floor (ground?) of the stadium continually changing images was that done with lasers? If so how? I thought if it was projected from above why werent the participants showing the ground colour on their bodies as they ran around?

Two shot dead at Rio Olympic sites

Police shot a mugger near the stadium where the Rio Olympics opening ceremony took place and a woman was killed close to another Olympic site, police said overnight.

"The man was carrying out assaults when a military police officer... shot him," the statement said.

The woman, 51, was attacked by three armed muggers, police said. She tried to flee and was shot in the head.

the fun never stops in RIO..

btw... 1 in 5 deaths are committed by police in Brazil..

they killed over 800 people last year to give you a scope of how many homicides are committed each year in that country...

they don't muck around over there.... get caught doing something wrong and .... BANG>>!!

The real reason I logged on today was to post about how bloody proud I am of our Aussie swimmers/athletes.

I even shed a few tears as I watched them win GOLD.

I didn't see it, so this is only speculation - but I suspect some kind of 'false floor' with the images projected from below.

That would explain the colours not showing on the participants.

RIO DE JANEIRO — A second Olympic boxer has been accused by a housekeeper in the athletes' village of sexual assault.

Jonas Junis, a 22-year-old boxer from Namibia who was the country's flag-bearer during the opening ceremony, was accused by a maid of grabbing her, kissing her forcefully, and then offering her money to have sexual relations with him, according to a report from O Globo.

Junis' arrest follows a similar incident last week, when boxer Hassan Saada from Morocco was accused of sexual assault by two maids in the athletes' village. The female employees accused the athlete of thrusting his body against one of them, attempting to kiss her and groping a maid's breasts. Saada is also being detained in the Bangu prison complex.

Haven't you ever watched an NRL or AFL game?

The fields are covered in advertising logos which looks like the players are running all over them .... and there is no projection of colour onto the players because in reality they are not there .........

it's superimposed through the TV station.

Our girls won Gold in Rugby.

Bloody hell I cried again.

The little ones were wondering why I was crying.

Dad told them something about me being a proud Aussie.

They then had an almighty spat over what the Aussie colours were. One reckons : red, white and blue.....the other : green and gold.

Do we go by the colours of our flag or our uniform?

Undecided Sad Shocked
