i'll see if I can get the computer fired up later on... I don't have many pics right now.. one or two...

Got down to Zero last night and was freezing under two Doona's...  Shocked .. so had to fire up the Diesel Heater Smiley

After the past two weeks of miserable weather at home.. we've had Blue Sky's all day long with the temp hitting 20* in Cobar when we pulled up... Smiley

Today we've seen apple, orange and meandering orchids... a Leopard Tank... the type I used to work on when in the army...

A man made out of barrels.. 12 foot high.. a penny farthing.. the colour of the dirt change colour as we push north... irrigation channels... excellent war memorials and bronze statues..

Heaps of trees, kookaburra's, kangaroos etc..

An aeroplane on top of a shop..  Shocked

Filthy stinking places of hate worship... I think they are called mosques..  Angry ... in Shepparton and Griffith..

A giant can of beer...  Shocked ...

Big rivers... a letterbox made to look like a Minion..

All sorts of stuff..

This is why I Love DRIVING around Australia... theres always something different to look at... Smiley

ok,

we have made it up to Longreach and have been at the Stockman's Hall of Fame today..

from Cobar pushing to through to here there was a lot of roadkill..
Kangaroos
Wild Pigs
Goats  Shocked
a Huge bird (not sure of its name)

lots of Emu's and Roos wandering in the wilderness.. Bug Kites circling for food on the updrafts..

but for the first time in 5 years the rains have come in and caused floods... talk about timing  Roll Eyes

this means that we wont be able to go down to Winton to see the Dinosaur stampede footprints as the roads are closed..  Sad
we are held up just out of Longreach in a huge Stopping bay with another 30 or so caravaners and truckies..

the ground is so soft at the moment no one dares go off road.. we nearly got stuck yesterday near the showgrounds trying to turn around with the car slipping and the mrs having heart failure..

but I kept it under control and on the move Wink Wink

but we are not fussed by all of this.. we'll go to the Aeroplane Museum tomorrow and then head east back to the coast to Hervey Bay were we're hoping to go out to sea for some close up whale watching.. Smiley

part of the outback show at the SHOF

...

me and Jigsaw after the show Smiley

...

part of the exhibition is the Royal Flying Doctors

...

a Bra Fence  Shocked

...

another camp site

...

and a big Juicy Steak at the end of a hard days drive Smiley

That steak is a ripper!  BTW......Winton is ^^^^^^ from Longreach, not vvvvvvvvvv.

Hervey Bay will be great (warm too) as the whales are there now.   As you pass the Sunshine Coast heading south from Hervey Bay, gimme a wave!

A bra fence?    Shocked

It looks like you are having a great adventure.   I'm thinking about doing a whale watching tour off Sydney heads this year.  I have a friend who does whale watching tours from his catamaran at Hervey Bay, well he used to.  Maybe he will be your guide.

it was indeed aussie...

it was a parking lot just outside of Longreach for a few days when the roads were closed... we gave up on going to the Dinosaur stamped footprints display... (one of only two areas like that in the world!)

remember that scene from Independents Day when all of those RVs met up in the Desert?  Shocked

...

so while held up at LR we went to the Qantus Museum Smiley

...

some trucks finally getting through the flooded roads after dark

...

so we pushed East back to the coast..

passed some machinery displays Smiley

...

passed the Tree of Knowledge where the Labor Party was formed...

but the Tree is dead now.. Most likely died of shame  Embarrassed

...

I had some solar panel glitches so while up on the roof of the van this little guy came and stood next to me watching me do some repairs.. lol

then came down when I came down so I shared some food with umm, her, I think

...

so once we were in Hervey Bay we went out for the day on a whale watching Tour..

...

our view while having lunch right out near the tip of Frazer Island.. oh, we also saw a baby whale.. the guy reckons most likely the first one.... early for a baby to be born yet..

...

and a bit of a crappy youtube vid when the whales got close... sorry about the quality of everything.. I never brought one single camera on this trip so everything was taken by phone..
