HOW TO ASSIST AUSTRALIANS TO BUY AUSTRALIAN MADE
Our labelling laws must be in keeping with the product being sold. Strict guidelines as to the origin of the product, where it is made, and identifying whether produced by an Australian company or foreign. Most Australians find it extremely hard to easily find this information when shopping. One Nation proposes a colour coded labelling system to assist people. Food processing industries in Australia or Australian companies overseas must label their products with either a Green, Gold or Red sticker that will indicate;
GREEN…….totally Australian, Australian product, Australian owned company, Australian produced
GOLD……….must be either an Australian product or Australian owned company
RED………..totally foreign, foreign product, foreign company
Strategic plans for the manufacturing industry aims to consult business, unions, trade experts and the regions that identify future opportunities, and the best means of industry meeting those opportunities. Every attempt must be made to promote agricultural based or related industries that, besides arresting rural exodus and stimulating food production activities, provide an incentive for the establishment of further natural resource-based industry.
There should be:
•Development and strengthening of public, financial and other institutions in order to protect and stimulate industrial development, in particular, the basic rural, small, medium-scale and labour-intensive manufacturing industries.
•Fair trade and not free trade, with support to protect our vital manufacturing industries.
•Tariffs: If we are to protect our manufacturing from further decline, closure or going offshore then we must re-introduce tariffs. We cannot compete with countries that pay slave wages, under poor working conditions.
The decline of our manufacturing industry is because of Liberal, National and Labor policies, and international treaties they have signed. A strong economy is one that can feed, produce and provide for its self. Irresponsible governments and politicians are continuing to put us in a position, where we will be at the mercy of the IMF or UN. Our decline will not stop until Australians make a stand and force politicians to stop selling out our country, by replacing them.
