I'm buying a lottery ticket today ...
Apr 18th, 2016 at 12:25pm

I picked up the phone to make an inquiry, and then went into hyperventilation with my eyes rolling back into my head when I realised I could CLEARLY understand what the woman was saying because she wasn't a Filipino or an Indian, but a genuine, bona fide Australian.

It was a rare treat not to have to strain to understand the accent.

I would gladly pay a special fee to be attended to on the phone by genuine Australians only.

Don't you find Filipinos easy to understand? I love that cute little American twang and just knowing if female there's a high chance of her being a little hotty on the other end of the line..

Indians on the other hand, you call almost smell their rancid ghee and vindaloo breath, and chances are like most Indian females she's been nearly bashed to death with the ugly stick. Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I think the whole world loves Filipino girls - except Malayans and others over there in Singapore who seem to like beating the sh*t out of their house-maids, or even killing them. Filipino girls are the ideal substitute for those men who are slightly inclined towards paedophilia. They can have their cake and eat it too with these Hobbit-like women.

Haha Herbert you're hilarious.  Grin I have visited the Philippines before and can safely say they aren't all attractive.
As it stands though generally very friendly and genuine people. They love you if you're white too, something about their history with America  Cheesy

I've worked with whole factories full of them, and they are undoubtedly one of the nicest people to work with.

They hate being thought of as similar to the Chinese, and they hate being asked by people like me what are their real names. What did they call themselves before they acquired all those Spanish names and those Fairy Tale names? 'Cinderella' etc.

The girls are nice and portable in size. If you're late for the bus you can just pick her up and run for it.

You are doing better than me and after the conversation I had today with an o/s call centre I am in the process of ripping my hair out.

Not only did he have no clue what I was talking about he asked me 4 times "how was your day?"  (errr the same as it was when you asked me 2 mins ago maybe?)  and kept calling me "my man".  I hung up!   Angry

I don't doubt it.

The guy I knew was a gardener (in the Mosman Park house).

After pruning the roses, he had to prune Rose's.

He told me it smelled like sardines that had gone off.

Grin Grin Grin

The poor bastard! He's been coached to say that, of course.

You can probably blame me for him and his ilk still having their jobs.

I'm always told to hang on after the issue has been dealt with so I can give the call-centre girl or guy an approval rating of 1 to 5, and I've invariably given them a 5 even if I couldn't understand half of what they were saying.

I admire them for what they do, even though the accent problem gets my blood-pressure rising dangerously.

I'll bet it was. She was the sort of dominant Aqua-alpha female type who would have insisted upon strapping on a Venus Sex Shop 'toy' to her groin before folding him over a chair to deliver him a series of pelvic thrusts where it would do him the most good.

We got a telemarketing call this evening...during dinner  Roll Eyes

I just could not understand what I was being told on a/c of the caller's strong accent.

So I stated this some 3 times.

They hung up on me.

I'm usually good when it comes to hearing English with a very heavy foreign accent.

But tonight's experience was just ridiculous!

I've got a silent number and it keeps most callers out.

Every now and then one creeps through but it is usually an Aussie charity.

I have a silent number & it's a do not call number.

I still get unsolicited phone calls.

They got 10 times worse last year after I went to hospital & gave my phone number to them.
I think someone at the hospital is selling off private phone numbers illegally but I can't prove it.

Not really an option here as it's hubby's business phone number. He mainly works from home.

Yes Lisa,
and it's nearly always an Indian accent with someone trying to do a survey.

Hi Lisa,
the best bet is to have an answering machine & only pick up if
it's someone you want to speak to.
I don't have one so I just leave the phone off the hook if I'm asleep or busy.

I'm surprised at how many people haven't invested in caller ID and message banks.

Don't know the number? Let it go through to the keeper. Unsolicited calls will not leave a message.

Still, these days it's all about the mobile. I'm very particular about who i give my mobile number to. Charities and canvassers don't call them because they are too expensive.

I only keep the landline for my parents and my best friend. And other rellies.

With caller ID and a private number and message bank.

Get a silent number and you won't get any.

I have a silent number & it's a do not call number.

I still get unsolicited phone calls.

They got 10 times worse last year after I went to hospital & gave my phone number to them.
I think someone at the hospital is selling off private phone numbers illegally but I can't prove it.

Silent number PLUS on the Do Not Call Register?

And still being harassed?

  Undecided

Yes Lisa,
and it's nearly always an Indian accent with someone trying to do a survey.
I hang up on them.

Ahhh this one was Indian also.

God it was annoying to listen to.

I just could not work out what I was being told.

I grabbed a few words.

Didn't help lol.

Hi Lisa,
the best bet is to have an answering machine & only pick up if
it's someone you want to speak to.
I don't have one so I just leave the phone off the hook if I'm asleep or busy.

Ahhh, we've got a new one and it's not working well for some silly reason.

Must get hubby to look into it.

He's been very busy lately (working 6 days a week atm).

Anyway Bobby, it seems our resident cabbie driver is again on stalker mode.

You still on FB?

I know a guy who had sex with Rose.

Several times.

He said it was horrible.

I'll bet it was. She was the sort of dominant Aqua-alpha female type who would have insisted upon strapping on a Venus Sex Shop 'toy' to her groin before folding him over a chair to deliver him a series of pelvic thrusts where it would do him the most good.
I bet. And i also bet Greggary wasnt talking about a "friend of his"

Indeed Agnes. I don't even bother looking at who is calling most of the time ... just let it slip through to message bank.

If they want you, they'll leave a message and you can call them back.

Yes the Govt. can look at anything on facebook - it's wide open &
any of your friends with unknown spyware/malware  on their computers
can cause a hacker to get all the information.

Hi Lisa,
I scanned a friends computer once because she had trouble with pop ups on the screen - slow running  etc.

She had over 450 spyware/ malware/ viruses/ Trojans/worms  etc
on her hard disk.

The anti-vrius I used program couldn't  even get rid of them all.

It was her fault for running her computer
without any anti-virus program.

Her computer had to be formatted & re-installed from scratch.

I just could not understand what I was being told on a/c of the caller's strong accent.

They hung up on me.

I'm usually good when it comes to hearing English with a very heavy foreign accent.

But tonight's experience was just ridiculous!

Solution? Have all your calls come in through an answering machine.

"After the pips, please leave your message". Listen - and then pick up the phone if you know the person.

It was 'House Without Steps' that drove me shitless. They never wanted to take "NO!" for an answer. With my neighbour it was The Readers Digest - drove them NUTS! with phone calls and postal advertising.

And then I had this woman with a husky voice ...  Cool

This is true, Im often amazed at the amount of personal information people put on the internet. A career criminal and standover man once told me that the internet was his best tool, as long as he had the persons name he could find all sorts of information.
