Chinese causing house prices to rise
Apr 13th, 2016 at 9:38pm

Published on Mar 19, 2016

Monday 12th October 2015

Whether it's waterfront trophy homes or apartments off the plan, or even massive commercial developments, Chinese investment in our real estate has surged by more than 400 per cent in just five years, with as much as A$12 billion spent in the previous financial year alone. Property is now the number one Chinese investment in Australia.
So who are these investors and what do they see in Australia?

the chinese are allowed to come in here and blow up a property bubble and yet their government would never allow foreigners to do the same in their own country and yet the pollies keep telling us how foreign investment is great for all of us Sad

Hi sir Nail,
I know a guy in East Doncaster where the Chinese are buying up
his whole street -

they are paying $1 million for houses that cost only $350K
10 years ago.

Saw a cute one online last night

'Hongcouver'

Smiley

Same comments from Americans and Canadians as here in Oz

about money laundering

about Canadian and Oz governments fully aware of it

about crooks from China putting black money into overseas accounts then using it to buy property in Oz, Canada, etc.

letting it sit, cool and cleanse

rinse

sell

to another crook doing same thing

All of which pushing up property prices to ridiculous levels far beyond the pockets of natives

But hey, isn't that what happens when you ship Western manufacturing and jobs to Asia?

.

BUT

short term policy, eh?

Now the shipping trade is in the doldrums

Having to ferry food in to the guys stuck in overseas ports, their holds filled with crap

Bankruptcies

Container ships being scrapped in India

.

What happened?

Ooops.  The 'geniuses' who contrived the short-term plan

forgot to factor in all those they'd rendered unemployed, in the West

The West can't afford to buy the crap

not on welfare

Big stuff-up, eh?

.

So, with their shipping companies going down the gurgler

and with China feeling the pinch and closing-in on all their corrupt countrymen who've bought big in the West

and with Asian factories closing

and the West's economy also going down the gurgler

and all those Asians now unable or unprepared to pay out on all those shonk apartments they'd bought off the plan

looks as if the 'geniuses' have stuffed-up everyone

.

But, you know, they own the media

so they keep describing themselves as 'geniuses'

.

They're getting funny looks these days though, eh?

More people every day are beginning to hate their guts

.

Yes - & most of us including me still have mortgages to pay on our homes
which were bought at inflated prices.
We are always in a state of worry should we lose our jobs.
We can directly blame the corrupt Chinese investors
pumping up the market with their dirty money.

Chinese were widely attracted by property in US and Canada having large Chinese communities and opening broader opportunities. But since Canadian authorities seek to temper a heated housing market having introduced an additional tax for foreigners looking to purchase a home, investors from China have focused on property in other countries. Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane are most popular with them so the prices in these cities are climbing up. As much as the pundits choose to deny that this is the case, I have personally witnessed this to be fact.

How do I know that they are not Vietnamese or other Asian nationality? Easy enough to see, and even easier when you ask them.

It cuts both ways, without foreign investors there will be less stock on offer.

Chinese have traditionally only bought the trophy homes in my hood but in the last two years they've also been targeting the lower end , $2 to 4 mill apartments etc.

Seeing lots of Chinese around the shops and parks now.

I guess they learned rose bay is nicer than Burwood
