Cut taxpayer support for religion, save $350m

Quote:
The Turnbull government could improve the budget bottom line by $350 million by scrapping taxpayer support for religious organisations.

It could also save $60 million by ending support for the controversial National School Chaplaincy Program.

The research was done for Libertarian crossbench senator David Leyonhjelm, who says the government should consider the move.

The Liberal Democrats are not opposed to religion but we oppose government support of religion he said, It is a private matter.

Taxpayers shouldn't be subsidising any religions, all government funding for religions should stop.

We should also stop spending millions on deradicalisation programs for muslims that don't work.

Leftists and the Ayatollahs have a lot in common when it comes to criticism of Islam, they don't tolerate it.

Last August, the government allocated $13.4 million to fund programs aimed at preventing young Australians becoming involved with extremist groups as part of a raft of counter terrorism measures.

Why should taxpayers be footing the bill to deradicalise these muslims, the mosques created this problem they should fix it.

The AFIC have shown their corruption with school funding, there are numerous studies that show these deradicalisation programs don't work.

In Australia, religious organisations are not required to pay taxes. Do you approve or disapprove of religious organisations having tax exempt status?

24% approve of religious organisations having tax exempt status and 64% disapprove

I would be one of the 64% who say religion should lose tax exempt status.
