The F-23 Black Widow -The plane that never made it
Mar 13th, 2016 at 9:52pm

We hear so much about the F-22 as being the ducks nuts in fighter attack planes but spare a thought for the contender from Northrup Grumman that never saw the light of day even though some say the F-23 was a better plane than the F-22. Seems that Lockheed martin ends up winning all of the contracts these days Sad

In August 2021, Newcastle Coroner Karen Dilks recorded that Lisa Shaw had died “due to complications of an AstraZeneca COVID vaccination”.

I'm still lamenting the crash of P-51 Big Beautiful Doll after a mid-air with an A-1...

Northrop has a bad reputation in the US defence community for creating excellent aircraft but lacking the managerial ability to build them efficiently and cheaply.  The F-22 was slightly worse than the F-22 but Lockheed had the managerial ability to deliver the aircraft on time and on budget.   Northrop was also, at the time of the competition with the F-22 heavily involved in the B-2 bomber program.   The Pentagon felt that they would not be able to deliver two top of the range aircraft simultaneously.  So the F-22 won the fighter competition.

Gee, the same couldn't be said for the F35!

In what way?  Lockheed-Martin is not involved in delivering any other aircraft at the moment that I am aware of that is taxing their management ability.
