Qld police minister shooting rats in home
Feb 29th, 2016 at 9:13am

Quote:
Rockhampton MP Bill Byrne has come under fire after reports he used a rifle at his home to shoot a rat.

The opposition will today write to police commissioner Ian Stewart calling for an investigation into whether Mr Byrne has complied with Queenslands weapons act, which he administers

The Premier is standing by Mr Byrne, with her office insisting firing a weapon at home was legal and any offence would be outdated anyway.

The Courier mail reports Mr Byrne told them on the weekend that on a number of occasions he'd taken aim at rats with his .22 calibre rifle inside the roof of his Rockhampton home.

The Qld premier and police minister appear to be ignorant about our firearm laws.

Does the Qld premier now approve of shooting rats in your home despite the fact this would be a serious firearms offence?

In a time of universal deceit — telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

No evidence whatsoever it can be attributed to George Orwell or Eric Arthur Blair (in fact the same guy)

Its OK Baron,     .....if you from among the political elite, you simply have to wink at the laws [that have been authorised by our parliaments].

You see, strict compliance with the laws of the land is only intended, for lesser citizens.

Members of the political elite and their servants,       .....are not subject to the laws of the land, in the way that all other citizens are subject to them.

I have to presume, that Australia today, is perceived by police agencies, to be a society where violent crime and assault can occur at any time.

And, police officers are permitted [required?], to routinely have access to, and to carry Glock pistols - FOR THE SAKE OF ENHANCING THEIR PERSONAL SAFETY.

Whereas, all other peaceful, law abiding citizens are PROHIBITED [in law] from even possessing a firearm, any firearm,       .....for the purpose of personal defense [e.g. in the event of a violent home invasion, by criminals].

QUESTION;
Does this evident circumstance [stated above], establish the fact, that the lives of police officers must be being regarded [by governments, and police agencies] as being worth more, than the lives and personal safety of all other, peaceful, law abiding citizens ?

QUESTION;
Should the lives and personal safety, of police officers be regarded as being worth more, than the lives and personal safety of all other, peaceful, law abiding citizens ?

As per, my argument made here.

.....my question is, that;

If firearms are so dangerous [AND THEY ARE!], then,
....why are so many firearms seen on the hips of so many people who are walking on our streets ?

My argument is, that because firearms are very dangerous, all of these people, are a danger to themselves, and to other citizens.

And for the sake of public safety, these firearms should be removed from our community.
