200 Lions to be shot- where is the outrage

Where is the outrage over the culling of these 200 lions , are the soy latte sipping inner city types only outraged when white man pays big money to shoot a lion, is it racist of them to only whinge about white man shooting lions?

The I D I O T S who protested shooting Cecil are obviously socialist leftist racists because they object to white man paying big money to shoot lions when they are otherwise shot for free by black men.

It's a fact of life these big predators will be shot at times.

Heaps of lions are killed in Zimbabwe each year. The reason Cecil's death caused a stir, was that he was taken from an area that didn't allow hunting, and because he was a well known tourist attraction, that was habituated to humans.

Didn't help that he was shot and wounded by a bow/arrow, and took 40 hours to be hunted down and killed properly by a rifle.

No charges were proved over shooting Cecil the hunter and guide paid all the relevant taxes and permits.

They target older males who are past best breeding age, he was taken in an area that did allow hunting as Cecil wandered out of where he was.

Trial by social media led to death threats which resulted in the person who did nothing illegal having to flee from his home and place of work.

Actually, no. Even if he wasn't lured out of the park, the farm where he was shot, was not in an area where quotas were in effect.

Plenty of lions they could have shot elsewhere, as is obvious by your OP. They chose an easy kill, of a quiet lion, and even then, were to inept to get a kill shot, and he had to wander around, wounded, for a couple of days.

Those running the hunting safaris probably go for the first legal lion they come across, time is money so I don't think they would stuff around.

There is no evidence Cecil was lured out of his park and since all charges have been dropped there is no evidence of any wrongdoing.

As for hunting with Bow and Arrow it's not something I would do I prefer to use a gun, I would use a bow and arrow over poisoning with 1080 which takes up to 4 days to kill animals.

I think it's sad how these dopey do gooders tried to stop African lion hunting because they were butthurt with outrage, all they have achieved is making a poor country even poorer with their idiocy and not a single lion has been saved.

Wealthy hunters pay up to $50,000 to shoot a lion with government permit costs which multiplied by 200 lions in this single case is quite a reasonable amount of money.
Much better for the people of Zimbabwe to charge people for doing this instead of doing it for nothing.

City dwellers have a massive disconnect from the natural world. They (we) think food comes from a supermarket and that wild animals are all just cuddly, furry friends living in harmony. Life can be brutal, but you dont really recognise that when your greatest hardship is your iphone running out of charge.

Humans are the only species that manage other species so they don't become extinct.
