In living memory Seranta.

So in 20 years it'll be ok?

Not while there is still massive inequality and people disadvantaged from the actions of white Australia.

Shifting goal posts?

Not in the slightest. We have in this country a severe problem that is a direct result of the attempted genocide of the Aboriginal people.

TO make a game out of it is beneath contempt.

I'm not overly supporting a game that I have never seen. You drew a line at "living memory" and then shifted. If the game was being stranded in the land of nevernever with darkies trying to kill and eat you, I'd be OK. If you were landed in 32bc in Europe and had your head taken, fine. On the other hand, I understand why they don't like it. It's insensitive to a people. We(Europeans) are not head hunters now, and the noongars will not spear you when you cross their land. Where is the line drawn.

In living memory. I shifted nowhere. There are still, living amongst us, victims of the attempted genocide of the Aboriginal people.  There exists to this day a very tense racial dynamic.

It is not the same as Caesar taking on the Celts.

Please elaborate on that? And perhaps the take over of Ireland by the English, the scalping of Scottish villages to replace the clans with sheep?

You can't honestly be arguing that it is?

How offensive do you think this game is to Aboriginal people?

How offensive do you Ceasar IV is to me, a Celt by heredity?

Can you compare the two?

They shouldn't be. I think I've been clear and consistent on that here. Some of my best friends are black fellas. I know, that's what they all say, it's true though. Ask Maria about my plumber mate and his Harvard educate bro.

Think of it this way Setanta. If a game came out where Aboriginals had to kill all the white people, i would not be offended because white peopl are in a position of dominance over Aboriginal people.

If a game came out where men had to kill all the women, i would not be offended because it is preposterous.

But if a game came out where men had to rape as many women as possible i would be highly offended because it is a sensitive issue.

In living memory.

It is.

To some, very.

No idea but he stole your heritage, enslaved your people, murdered every man woman and child in cities.

Yes, it's easy to compare because it is the same process.

That does not mean I like it. It means I recognise it.

I would object to a video game trivialising that too.

What's your point?

And it's not about enmity. It's about whether or not people alive are still suffering from the effects of policies that sought to wipe them out.

Can you really not see how this game is highly offensive?

My point, I suppose, is that though I find the game, as presented in the media, a little offensive and very insensitive.
On the other hand, it's no worse than Cowdies and Indians, that's living memory too. If I know my darkie friends, they would just roll their eyes and move on.

I already said that cowboy vs Native Americans would be offensive.

I have some Aboriginal friends that would take it on the chin, others that would be highly offended. But i hang out with alot of activists.

Offence is taken certainly ... but the cause for offence is given.
