There are a series of survival island games each with different settings.  What's so friggin special about Australia that it can't have games set in it?

50,000 signatures, and I would bet my house that over 49000 of them never played it, Never even seen a screenshot.  Hell, none of you have either, yet you've sure made your minds up about what it is and isn't.

How about this - if you're not interested, ignore it.  Nah....you gotta be outraged about something, so oddly being a slow outrage day, I guess this is it.  What will it be tomorrow for the perpetually angry?

You need to learn the difference between outrage and contempt.

And no, i'll bet all of the signatories have never plated it. Why would any reasonable person want to have fun with genocide?

Survival game my arse.

I don't think genocide is the right way to approach the game. It's insensitive, it's uncalled for.

Te wiping out of Aboriginal people was indeed an attempted genocide.

Is that as the above post points out different than Cowdies and Indians? A game is a game, am I opposed to dragons because I play Skyrim? I don't think there needed to be a reference to a real people that may take offence. I will reiterate take. But it's not needed and the game would be just as good without the target group as an identifiable people.

I disagree, THe game is highly culturally insensitive. I think a game with cowboys killing Native Americans is also insensitive.

There is a rule of thumb in the entertainment industry. Not in living memory. If you want to trivialise genocide then you better be Quentin Tarantino. Don't ask me how he gets away with it, he just does.

Genocide is our(man's) history, don't diminish it. Caesar killed or enslaved 2/3 of Gaul, Trajan, decimated Dacia, wiped them all out, I suspect only the ruling class, but.. We must be allowed to play with history. Insensitive? Definitely, Uncalled for? Yep. Out of bounds? Nope.

Not while there is still massive inequality and people disadvantaged from the actions of white Australia.

Not in the slightest. We have in this country a severe problem that is a direct result of the attempted genocide of the Aboriginal people.

TO make a game out of it is beneath contempt.

I'm not overly supporting a game that I have never seen. You drew a line at "living memory" and then shifted. If the game was being stranded in the land of nevernever with darkies trying to kill and eat you, I'd be OK. If you were landed in 32bc in Europe and had your head taken, fine. On the other hand, I understand why they don't like it. It's insensitive to a people. We(Europeans) are not head hunters now, and the noongars will not spear you when you cross their land. Where is the line drawn.

In living memory. I shifted nowhere. There are still, living amongst us, victims of the attempted genocide of the Aboriginal people.  There exists to this day a very tense racial dynamic.

It is not the same as Caesar taking on the Celts.

Please elaborate on that? And perhaps the take over of Ireland by the English, the scalping of Scottish villages to replace the clans with sheep?
