Queensland police property officer pleads guilty to stealing 42 weapons he hid in roof

A former property officer for the Queensland Police Service (QPS) has been sentenced to two years in prison — but will be released immediately on parole — for stealing seized guns and ammunition, which were only discovered after he accidentally shot himself in the hand.

The court heard the stash of weapons was uncovered when Everett accidentally shot himself in his garage while home alone in March, 2018.

The weapons seized included six pistols, an assault rifle, automatic machine gun barrels, ammunition, capsicum spray, tear gas and flick knives.

I thought it was common knowledge that organised crime is organised to such an extent that the police know who all the drug dealers are, who is carrying a gun and everything else, but that no one ever gets arrested because it's an "ongoing operation".

Like pretty much every gun is "registered" and ownership is controlled by the police.

Even to join a bike gang, the police must approve it. These gangs have been around for decades and are now completely infiltrated and controlled by the police.

You didn't know?

Bail revoked for man who allegedly stockpiled guns and secretly filmed sex acts

A decision to grant home detention bail to a man charged over a massive weapons haul in the Adelaide Hills has been overturned.

The man — who cannot be named for legal reasons — was arrested in August afterpolice allegedly uncovered more than 200 illegal weapons at his rural Adelaide Hills property.

Last week, Magistrate John Fahey granted bail to the man, but the DPP appealed that decision in the Supreme Court.

Justice Kevin Nicholson on Monday revoked the man's bail, saying he had three major concerns if he was released — that the man could be dangerous, could abscond or interfere with the police investigation.

Justice Nicholson said some of the weapons found during the search were believed to have been destroyed following a firearms amnesty.

"In a number of cases, the serial number on a firearm corresponds to that attributable to a firearm believed to be destroyed during earlier amnesty periods.

"Other serial numbers identify firearms registered to other persons, including persons interstate," Justice Nicholson said.

It will be alleged the weapons haul included an assault rifle, machine gun, throwing knives, daggers, bayonets and military ammunition.

How do you get bail when caught with 200 illegal firearms I thought we had tough gun laws.

Questions should be asked on how guns surrendered and believed to be destroyed during an amnesty ended up in criminals hands.

The AR15 Bill Drysdale surrendered during an amnesty in Victoria ended up in Martin Bryants hands after police claimed it was destroyed in a sims metal furnace.
