The sad fact is that this sort of "way of looking at the world" is the 'reality" for a large % of the population and maybe it is myself who is out of touch.
Its really a question of laziness and living in a "pain body" paradym as Ekhardt Tolle would call it.
People are in pain because of their bad life decisions.
Choose a big mac over a salad,
Choose to slump on the couch over going jogging.
Nearly every "bad" decision is a "easy " decision.
Then, when you are mediocre as a result of bad decisions, the easiest way to rationalise it is to match your mindset to your reality.
so you look around and see that you are failing and you blame

big business
the system
your relatives
your boss
you blame anyone but yourself.
this is to preserve your ego.
it is very hard to actually man up and admit that "if you arent doing well in australia , you have ....Messed up" .
the ego wont allow it.

they tell people "the lie" that if you are "a scrub" it is someone elses fault.
This is simply unhelpful and leaves people stuck in "scrub mode"

They never praise australia or any of the movers and shakers and risk takers.
