Amazing RN Show on what a clusterf*ck NBN has become under the Liberals and how the Liberals are essentially solely responsible for massive cost blowouts.

I hope to god a RC is done on Turnbulls handling of the NBN and he is dragged in chains to prison for the blatant corruption that has gone on in this project with Telstra and Foxtel.

I consider the sabotage of the NBN as treason to the Australian people. The cost of the MTM mish mash will exceed $150Bn and deliver no real benefit. I have stated this consistently since the NBN Co “Strategic Report” which was a whitewash. The MTM has almost doubled in cost from $29B to $56Bn and NBN Co STILL don’t know the state of the copper!

Put a “1” in front of that “56” and we will get no benefit out of it.

Funny that the ENTIRE TECH/IT/TELECOMS industry have called out the disaster brain fart that is MTM since day one and we are the conspiracy theorists while all your beloved Turnbull can do is try to fudge their own reports which doesn't even work half the time and abuse international tech and communication experts.

MTM is a disaster. MTM is the biggest disaster in this nations history, it has blown out to 54-56 billion and they haven't even tested the copper yet nor do such costs include maintenance + renting ducts/copper from telstra. under the previous deal, all ducts were turned over to NBN co. Now we are renting the network and ducts from Telstra for 30 years.

For all the cries of "economic managers" The Libs have already flushed 54-56 billion down the toilet for essentially nothing and 150+ billion including rental/maintenance and that isn't costing the unfathomable loss to the economy.

Tech startups and IT firms are already closing up shop in Australia and moving to the US and NZ.

The posts on the friends of the NBN FB page are from ZDNet, ITNews, ITWire and so on.

It is STILL news to Longy that not even the most rabid RWNJ here EVER supports Longy’s arguments.

I notice Longy has not dared put an estimate on the cost or benefit of the MTM.

I say it will cost over $100Bn to roll out, then there are high recurrent costs of powering and maintaining the copper. This is self evident. Benefits: $0. FTTN will result, due to radical underprovisioning of fibre to the DSLAMs in the nodes slower DSL speeds to all but a few while the failure to upgrade HFC to DOCSIS3.1. while adding lots of extra properties to the HFC networks will keep that as a hopelessly congested pay TV network.

Mark Gregory is the same voice you hear time and time again. The point is that he doesn't have to pay for connecting fibre to grandmas house who doesn't even own a computer. When he wants to pay a 5% levey on his income for FTTH and wait an additional ten years for it then I will listen.

That's what happens when you let Labor loose with billions of taxpayer dollars and no cost-benefit analysis.

No, numpty, it is Howard’s fault in the first place for privatising Telstra as a monopoly telco and network owner. Then it is the fault of abbott and Malodorous for killing the NBN and rolling out an expensive collection of obsolete technologies.

Malodorous decided on the MTM before he got the CBA. A 100 year project does not need a CBA.
