U.S. Media Blackout: Italian Courts Rule Vaccines Cause Autism

By Mary Holland
Global Research, February 13, 2015
Health Impact News

...

On September 23, 2014, an Italian court in Milan awarded compensation to a boy for vaccine-induced autism. (See the Italian document here.) A childhood vaccine against six childhood diseases caused the boy’s permanent autism and brain damage.

While the Italian press has devoted considerable attention to this decision and its public health implications, the U.S. press has been silent.

Italy’s National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program

Like the U.S., Italy has a national vaccine injury compensation program to give some financial support to those people who are injured by compulsory and recommended vaccinations. The Italian infant plaintiff received three doses of GlaxoSmithKline’s Infanrix Hexa, a hexavalent vaccine administered in the first year of life. These doses occurred from March to October 2006. The vaccine is to protect children from polio, diphtheria, tetanus, hepatitis B, pertussis and Haemophilus influenza type B. In addition to these antigens, however, the vaccine then contained thimerosal, the mercury-containing preservative, aluminum, an adjuvant, as well as other toxic ingredients. The child regressed into autism shortly after receiving the three doses.

When the parents presented their claim for compensation first to the Ministry of Health, as they were required to do, the Ministry rejected it. Therefore, the family sued the Ministry in a court of general jurisdiction, an option which does not exist in the same form in the U.S.

Court Decision: Mercury and Aluminum in Vaccine Caused Autism

Based on expert medical testimony, the court concluded that the child more likely than not suffered autism and brain damage because of the neurotoxic mercury, aluminum and his particular susceptibility from a genetic mutation. The Court also noted that Infanrix Hexa contained thimerosal, now banned in Italy because of its neurotoxicity, “in concentrations greatly exceeding the maximum recommended levels for infants weighing only a few kilograms.”

Presiding Judge Nicola Di Leo considered another piece of damning evidence: a 1271-page confidential GlaxoSmithKline report (now available on the Internet). This industry document provided ample evidence of adverse events from the vaccine, including five known cases of autism resulting from the vaccine’s administration during its clinical trials (see table at page 626, excerpt below).

...

Italian Government, Not Vaccine Maker, Pays for Vaccine Damages

As in many other developed countries, government, not industry, compensates families in the event of vaccine injury. Thus GSK’s apparent lack of concern for the vaccine’s adverse effects is notable and perhaps not surprising.

In the final assessment, the report states that:

“[t]he benefit/risk profile of Infanrix hexa continues to be favourable,” despite GSK’s acknowledgement that the vaccine causes side effects including “anaemia haemolytic autoimmune, thrombocytopenia, thrombocytopenic purpura, autoimmune thrombocytopenia, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, haemolytic anemia, cyanosis, injection site nodule, abcess and injection site abscess, Kawasaki’s disease, important neurological events (including encephalitis and encephalopathy), Henoch-Schonlein purpura, petechiae, purpura, haematochezia, allergic reactions (including anaphylactic and anaphylactoid reactions),” and death (see page 9).

The Milan decision is sober, informed and well-reasoned. The Ministry of Health has stated that it has appealed the Court’s decision, but that appeal will likely take several years, and its outcome is uncertain.

Two years earlier, on May 23, 2012, Judge Lucio Ardigo of an Italian court in Rimini presided over a similar judgment, finding that a different vaccine, the Measles-Mumps-Rubella vaccine (MMR), had caused a child’s autism. As in the Milan case, the Ministry of Health’s compensation program had denied compensation to the family, yet after a presentation of medical evidence, a court granted compensation. There, too, the Italian press covered the story; the U.S. press did not.

In that case, a 15-month old boy received his MMR vaccine on March 26, 2004. He then immediately developed bowel and eating problems and received an autism diagnosis with cognitive delay within a year. The court found that the boy had “been damaged by irreversible complications due to vaccination (with trivalent MMR).” The decision flew in the face of the conventional mainstream medical wisdom that an MMR-autism link has been “debunked.”

Italian Court Decisions Break New Ground in Debate Over Vaccines and Autism

Both these Italian court decisions break new ground in the roiling debate over vaccines and autism. These courts, like all courts, are intended to function as impartial, unbiased decision makers.

The courts’ decisions are striking because they not only find a vaccine-autism causal link, but they also overrule the decisions of Italy’s Ministry of Health. And taken together, the court decisions found that both the MMR and a hexavalent thimerosal- and aluminum-containing vaccine can trigger autism.

Italian Court Rulings Contradict Special U.S. Vaccine Court

These court decisions flatly contradict the decisions from the so-called U.S. vaccine court, the Court of Federal Claim’s Vaccine Injury Compensation Program. There, from 2007 to 2010, in the Omnibus Autism Proceeding, three decision makers, called Special Masters, found that vaccines did not cause autism in any of the six test cases, and one Special Master even went so far as to compare the theory of vaccine-induced autism to Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland.

The Italian court decisions contrast starkly with these U.S. cases based on similar claims.

Vaccination to be backed by welfare sanctions

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/national-affairs/health/vaccination-to-be-backed...

THE AUSTRALIANAPRIL 12, 2015 3:31PM

Australian parents will lose thousands of dollars of childcare and welfare benefits if they refuse to vaccinate their kids.

The “no jab, no pay” plan, announced by the federal government today, has bipartisan support.

Thousands of families could lose payments, with the government estimating about 39,000 children under seven have not received immunisation because their parents are vaccine objectors.

But Social Service Minister Scott Morrison said it’s not fair for taxpayers to subsidise parents who choose not to immunise.

“The overwhelming advice of those in the health profession is it’s the smart thing and the right thing to do to immunise your children,” Mr Morrison said in Sydney.

The government says the number of parents opting for the “conscientious objection” vaccination exemption for payments has more than doubled over the past decade.

The “no jab, no pay” policy will remove it as an exemption from January 2016.

The Australian Medical Association, representing 27,000 doctors, backs the plan.

“Vaccination remains one of the most effective public health measures that we have,” AMA President Brian Owler said.

“Whatever we can do to increase vaccination rates is important.”

Dr Owler does have some reservations. He’s concerned the policy won’t catch parents who don’t need the benefits and could lead to children being excluded.

“Kids might get punished because of the position their parents make.”

But the rest of the community had to be protected, he said, particularly sick people such as those undergoing chemotherapy. Under the plan, recommended by the Productivity Commission in a recent inquiry into child care, parents who decide against immunisations could be up to $15,000 worse off per child.

They would lose a childcare benefit of up to $205 a week, the childcare rebate of up to $7500 a year or the Family Tax Benefit A annual supplement of up to $726.

Children can still be exempted on medical or religious grounds, but Mr Morrison warns the latter exemption is “very narrow”.

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten said Labor believed in the science of vaccinations and linking them to welfare payments. “(I don’t accept) people just claiming some sort of loose, undefined conscientious objection not to do the right thing by their children,” he told reporters in Melbourne.

But there are some who strongly oppose measures that mandate immunisation.

An online petition against compulsory vaccinations in Australia that states “all parents deserve to make an uncoerced choice” has received more than 3000 signatures in five days.

Parents have taken to the change.org webpage to express their concerns about vaccinations and what they view is a potential encroachment on civil rights.

“My children, my choice and NOT the governments (sic),” Rima Helal wrote.

Another woman, Jody Fletcher, states: “I will not put my child at risk from further damage from vaccinations”.

Some conscientious objectors fear vaccinations are linked to diseases such as autism.

But the bulk of scientific opinion holds that vaccinations are safe and that objection to immunisation endangers the community by lowering so-called herd immunity to diseases.

NSW preschools already require vaccinations to enrol children and Mr Morrison is hoping other states and territories will also co-operate.

5 out of how many...

you know I have heard of children dying after contacting measles....for some of us.. it it a death warrant.. to contact childrens disease...sad but true...

GlaxonSmithKiline is a huge empire would you know how many vaccines they have produced over the years..... and 5 claim it gave their child autism...DURING CLINICAL TRIALS>>.

do we presume that any other child that has autism is was in some way affected by some medication???... its obvious they cannot be born with it... after that report.

a bit like diabetes I guess they must CATCH IT or get it through intravenous methods..

couldnt possibly be a fault in their body mechanism..

we can now expect parents in Italy to not have their children immunised..... I hope the rest of the world puts out health travel warnings in that case..

How is that relevant?

If it was five of your children, would you still ask the same question?

Heres a few issues with the ruling.

1. They used Wakefields report in the ruling, this paper has been retracted for dodgy science.
2. This is the same court system that decided geologists were culpable of manslaughter for failing to predict earthquakes and volcanoes
3. Courts rely on giving both sides of the debate equal validity, which is not the case scientifically
4. This decision was overturned for being BS in Feb this year

Mumps outbreak strikes Illinois college students who already received TWO MMR vaccines

Sunday, August 09, 2015 by: Jonathan Benson, staff writer

(NaturalNews) Dozens of students attending the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) have come down with the mumps virus in what authorities believe could snowball into an all-out epidemic. But once again, the vast majority of afflicted students were already twice vaccinated for mumps (MMR) prior to catching the disease, upending government claims about this dangerous and useless vaccine.

Reports indicate that some 69 cases of mumps have thus far been reported on the UIUC campus, and most of these, according to Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Director Nirav Shah, occurred among students who had previously received two rounds of the combination vaccine for measles, mumps and rubella.

As you may recall, the efficacy of the mumps component of the MMR vaccine was called into question by two former Merck scientists who filed a False Claims Act complaint in 2010. They allege that the vaccine giant fabricated study data to promote this controversial vaccine as effective, when in reality it doesn't actually work as claimed.

The escalating mumps outbreak at UIUC further substantiates what these two fleshed out in their court filing -- that despite getting vaccinated for mumps with MMR, individuals are still getting sick. And yet IDPH's Shah believes the solution is to push more MMR vaccines on students to supposedly curb the disease's spread.

He told the media that, even though the first two rounds of MMR apparently didn't work amongst the affected students at UIUC, they should still opt for a third round of the vaccine because it "could help control the outbreak," reports Fox News.

MMR vaccine may have triggered Illinois mumps outbreak, but health authorities are encouraging people to keep getting jabbed

Only in the twisted minds of vaccine pushers does it make sense to keep injecting a potentially life-threatening vaccine into people even after earlier jabs of the same vaccine definitively did not work. Shah claims that the MMR vaccine begins to work roughly two weeks after it's administered, but why, then, did all the vaccinated students still contract mumps?

The answer is that the MMR vaccine doesn't prevent mumps, and may actually spread it. Each injection contains attenuated, or a weakened version of, live mumps virus. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) openly admits this on its website, noting that the three viruses in MMR "grow" and cause infection after being injected.

Once inside the body, these viruses have the potential to "shed" to others, including the unvaccinated and those with compromised immune systems. A mumps outbreak that occurred in the Netherlands, in which the genotype D mumps virus strain spread among contacts close to individuals recently vaccinated for MMR, was believed to have been triggered by MMR vaccine shedding.

As the head of IDPH, Shah should know this, or at least be aware of this particular study and others like it that suggest a causal link between vaccine shedding and disease outbreaks. But he never even mentioned it in the media, choosing instead to push the very vaccine that may have been responsible for triggering this outbreak in Illinois.

"In light of long standing, significant gaps in scientific knowledge about infectious microbes, the microbiome, epigenetics and the nature of human health, the long term safety and effectiveness of using live attenuated virus vaccines and genetically modified virus-vectored vaccines has not yet been established," explains a report by the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC).

"Sometimes the weakened vaccine strain live virus can mutate and regain virulence, including neurovirulence, which significantly raises risks of serious complications from vaccine strain virus infection."
