What will be his 'legitimate within the rules' excuse for flying Capital Class at taxpayer's expense for Party business?  Visit to the Aging Pet Rat's Home in Devonport?  Negotiating with the Cloud Farmer's Union in Hobart?  Visit a grandmother with an in-grown toe-nail in Port Arthur?

"Money and Mantach.

The two are shaping as the most anticipated topics at the weekend's Tasmanian Liberal Party conference, where Tony Abbott will be the headline act on Saturday.

Two years after his election campaign pledge of $16 million for Hobart's Cadbury chocolate factory, and six months after the confectionery maker pulled out of the co-investment deal, the prime minister is expected to announce what funding plans Canberra now has for the state.

Tasmanian Liberal senator Eric Abetz has confirmed he expects an "announcement" from his boss on Saturday but there have been no clues about where the money will be directed.

Tasmanian Labor has asked that the funding go to the state's struggling northwest, which boasts high unemployment and has been hit by a downturn in mining, forestry and manufacturing.

Premier Will Hodgman said he hopes the money will "raise economic activity to create more jobs".

Also on the unofficial agenda will be the party's handling of former state director Damien Mantach and his repayment to the party of almost $48,000 before his departure in 2008."
