No evidence whatsoever it can be attributed to George Orwell or Eric Arthur Blair (in fact the same guy)

Un-promised funding cuts ???

If they can't afford programming then the only option is repeats of what they have.

They don't seem to be short of funds for endless news & current affairs, including highly paid journalists/presenters (of a suitable political tint of course).
The truth is they have abandoned entertainment for politics.

When politicians offer you something for nothing, or something that sounds too good to be true, it's always worth taking a careful second look.

The situation is just as bad if not worse on the commercial channels - and they don't have the decent news and current affairs programs that you find on the ABC.

They're not short of funds at all. The cuts abbott was talking about was a drop in their ocean. They have plenty of money to still stack audiences and go one with their anti right ranting and raving 7 days a week 24 hours a day. The ABC is just CRAP period. Q&A Anyone rofl what a joke.

My contact with the ABC these days is fairly limited.
I don't watch their news & current affairs TV except for rare events like the change of PM.
I do read their news on my phone, well the bits that interest me.
The most contact I have is through podcasts of radio programs and this is a shrinking production area at least as far as my interest goes. There are still some good programs but less than there used to be.

Inevitable if you slash their funding I suppose.
