I agree that western society is severely tainted with decadence.
It's not just in the usual sense that we identify decadence - sexual morality, financial corruption etc.

There is a malaise spreading worldwide, connected with consumerism, with social media, with the need for constant stimulation, with greed/gluttony in all its forms that is like an infection that will erupt soon all over the skin of western society.

But then I'm a depressive, so that may colour my views.

Why is it that China is doing its best to emulate the West?

Also, if the West is decadent, it implies that it once was somehow morally better. When I examine history I find wide spread social problems and hypocrisy in almost every culture not just the West.
