So how did Australia fare?

No prizes for guessing that China was well out in front, with a total energy subsidy of approximately $3 trillion projected for this year.

Australia was never going to be in the same stratosphere. But nor is our subsidy insignificant.

All up the IMF projected Australia would subsidise coal, petroleum and gas consumption by $41 billion in 2015. That is almost two per cent of our gross domestic product.

Craig Emmerson (labor minister, economic porfessor) said , when the greens started trash talking Coal that they were totally deluded and that coal was going to be a large part of the mix of energy production for decades to come.

Its really cheap coal that had helped drag millions of poverty stricken people in india and china out of appalling poverty and put them into the middle classes.

Inner city greens (driving their 3.5 litre Jeep cherokee's) and running their massive Daiken air cons, are simply hypocrites in this matter.

they live in luxury thanks to the money earnt by our coal miners and our beef exporters but not a word of thanks.

They should make a little shrine to coal in inner city sydney and the greens shoudl go and have a vigil and pay homage to the miners who have died to put them in their position of priveledge.

How awful it must be to live a mindless existence like a green, just living on your emotions.
An existence of low consciousnesss.
Almost an animal type existence

take away your beloved public transport subsidies and see how well they fare (pun intended).

Take away renewable energy subsidies and watch them collapse

Make bike riders pay for their bike lanes and no longer be given free access.
