Easter Sunday? How many people actually work on SUNDAY anyway? Not many. Whoop de doo.
Oh .. and as for costing money, employers are already doing very well out of this. With all the below-inflation pay rises that employers have been handing out, it's safe to say that the cost of these public holidays (one of which is a frigging SUNDAY when most people don't work anyway) has already been factored in. It may be an inadvertent effect of the Abbott government's poor economic management but regardless, employees are already paying a little less on other days to make up for it, plus some.
Net effect is negligible.
Doctors, nurses, Paramedics, Fire Fighters, Police, bus drivers, train drivers, electricity company employees, water treatment plant workers, retail workers, etc, etc, etc. There's a huge number of people who work Sundays and many, if not most, of them are government employees whose wages are paid for by taxpayers.
